The nurse not only got paid big for the violation (because it was not just policy, but law and she was correct), those officers got in trouble, and it came out later that the others involved in the accident were friends or other employees of the PD and were possibly driving under the influence or breaking the law, so they were forcefully trying to get anything from the patient to try to frame him as at fault.

The lady filming that was then accosted by officers has a pretty nice settlement coming to her should she want it. She could file that Pro Se and get that settled and those two fired pretty fast. I would also take them personally without their indemnity covering them. That was a VERY egregious violation of her rights, held up by multiple case laws further defining the bounds of the first amendment. They violated her blatantly and aggressively and need to be charged with assault.

Cops are held to a higher standard. For them to be charged with breaking the law, the bar is set much higher than citizens. That same high bar also applies to them receiving any consequences when they break the law. So they get to apply the law, ignore it when they can, and escape consequences when they break the law. He got life in prison for it.
