(i never really had a connection to them) but knowing my adoptive parents who are in their mid 80's might make it only another 5 years, is devastating. I’ve watched cheryl for a long time I think its so wrong that when her and Quran got together the internet decided their relationship was a free for all to hate. You’d open the comments and see nothing but unfiltered hate, things people should’ve kept in their head. As if theyre not humans with feelings, just put your opinions aside and scroll. Cheryl has been through an incredible amount of pain, my mom has been through very similar abuse. She is a real person with real trauma, she’s not a Wrinkly lady for you to make fun of. Shame on her kids to disown her. She deserves happiness. I understand it’s likely incredibly awkward or gross to them, but that’s honestly not their business, they’re grown. It’s 2024 they’re kids are going to see things they don’t want them to, if they feel it’s safe for the grandkids to be around them, then it’s wrong if they don’t allow that. i really don't think so. like they said, when u've gone through something like that in your life, it's much harder to find people who really understand you. they can sympathize, sure, but they can't fully step in your shoes, and they shouldn't have to either. as long as both individuals are in their healing journey, it makes for a healthy relationship. speaking as someone who's gone through abuse as well, i personally don't want my partner to pity me or see me as some broken lamb or to feel like a burden in any regard. being with, even just talking to people who've gone through similar things, it's a very different and significant type of understanding
