+Mary W it's easy to guess, the one with no furniture is usually the one they go with, most people just have their friends clean their house with their furniture, and they borrow it to film in. It's easy

Sad but true. I read an article which said that the other two houses usually belong to friends or family members and they use them just for the show. But I still enjoy the show just to look at places I'll never afford.

You forgot to add, "We already bought the house that we're moving into, but we're going to show you 2 other houses so you can try to guess which one we've already bought." They typically bought the house that is empty inside, if there's an empty house they visit.

Aileen Diaz I think the worst are Cupcake Wars and Donut Showdown because they're so quick they usually play a few of them back to back and there's no commercial between the end of one and the beginning of the next so I'm just like "well, no use in looking for anything else now" and next thing I know it's like 5 hours later. And no matter how annoyed I get with the people on House Hunters or other shows like it, I've convinced myself there's nothing better on anyway haha.

@zeverain
@zeverain 9 жыл бұрын
I know HGTV is really unsympathetic to old houses I mean I've seen some of there shows brutalize houses that hadn't been changed one bit since they'd been built, they're getting a bit better though since Rehab Addict got popular. I remember one house they wanted a "southern charmer" the realtor literally took them to an old plantation and they complained it felt too old and not southern enough...

If that "house" was really in West Hollywood, that price $400k is pretty accurate. (That looks like a neighborhood far less desirable than WeHo, but whatever.) In fact, a 2BR would likely be more like $500k in West Hollywood, even for a dumpy one like that. A beautiful, modern, renovated one would be around $1 million. It's just getting insanely expensive in Los Angeles.
