You had me sold, loved everything about the bike but 30k+ for a toy? I.e. weekends and fun to mess about on. Hoping the used market will be better value in a few years. It's not sticker shock, it's a smack down. Geniunely wish your company all the best and wanting it to succeed as you have a brilliant product.

The used market is what I'm selling in at the moment. I bought mine (zero sr) back in 2016 for 28k. Now selling it for half that but I'm happy with that. @simonmcguire1988

Great bike. Except that the screen section on the front tank will funnel rainwater down right into the rider's seat with a waterfall effect thanks to the cut out, where a typical tank with its bulging shape would distribute most of that water away in different directions. Can get very uncomfortable, especially when travelling at speed in strong downpour.

Why have software updates? It's not like a computer, which needs access to the internet and therefore needs cyber security updates to stay safe. It's a motorcycle, it needs to go, stop and charge, and that's really all the software needs to manage. If that needs an update it means it wasn't right first time, which means it's dangerous and shouldn't be sold. The video says it will be used to add navigation. Firstly, I very much hope you've airgapped the software updates from the drive or charging system, or you just opened the bike up to being hacked, but secondly, why haven't you got this sorted already? It's not like navigation software doesn't exist. It's a 30k bike, can't you stretch for the same Google maps that's on my cheap smartphone?

This sounds like we finally have a practical electric motorbike that can cover serious distances and quickly charge. They could lower the power and still be one of the best on the market. My worry with software driven tech is what happens when they go bust and no longer support it?
@lyfebehyndbars9729Ай бұрын
I have a ZERO FX, and love it. I just wish it had a little more range, and access to Tesla fast charging. Something like this bike would be perfect for me, if it was a lot cheaper.

Not a motorcyclist but what a brilliant thing, looks great and fantastic to see the technology they have been able to bring from what is available for our EV's.

Im really curious how all that unsprung weight in the rear wheel is going to affect it. But the range makes it a very usable highway motorbike at least.
@TeslaJigsawАй бұрын
It felt like any other Superbike... just without the vibrations, noise, fumes, engine, clutch, gears & petrol tank. Handling & weight felt superb
@waerlogaukАй бұрын
I would have the same concern about the unsprung weight, but I see two points here first. This is a heavy bike so the unsprung weight ratio is maybe not so bad. Second, the motor is at the front of the wheel so closer to the swing arm pivot thus the unsprung weight effect is reduced.

I like that, hope there's an optional extra choice of a speaker with downloadable exhaust sounds and volume control 👍😁👍❤️🇬🇧

Adding un-sprung mass the the rear wheel by installing the weight of the motor there is a bad idea. Lighter tires and wheels are the holy grail of gearheads worldwide.
@jatigre1Ай бұрын
I'm still waiting for front /two wheel drive, particularly needed in rainy places, where you need to stop and go on a wet climbing surface, the rear wheel just skids sideways if you apply more power.
@TeslaJigsawАй бұрын
Never needed that personally. It would add an awful lot of extra weight too

The rider position looks uncomfortable. And that big display screen on the tank cover will not age well.
@TeslaJigsawАй бұрын
The riding position was like any other Superbike... but this had multiple footpeg positions which was nice. Most bikes are kept indoors and cleaned well so I don't think the screen would be a problem overtime

Motorcycles have always been behind cars in tech and development. We’ve had electric bikes for a while but they’re either way too expensive like this, or garbage scooters that nobody gets any fun out of. For EV bikes I give it another 10 years
