At the end of the song the Fabricator General yells FINE, but if you look there is tons of code. What he actually said was "Never, I will have you assassinated”

As a Dark Angels player, I approve of Asmodai's actions. He had the suspicious book, he clearly knows about the -Fallen- and must repent. As far as background goes, in short. During the Horus Heresy, half of the Dark Angels turned traitor against the Imperium out of bitterness and a sense of abandonment. These traitors were branded the Fallen before they got scattered through time thanks to a warp storm. Ever since the remaining loyalist Dark Angels try to expunge any record of these traitors from the universe to conceal the shame their legion went through, This has lead to mass interrogations and paranoia throughout their chapter as members of the Fallen may appear at any moment from anywhere thanks to time travel.

As of now and the Lion's return though (the Primarch of the Dark Angels), the Lion found loyalist Fallen who got dragged into the fight over Caliban and never intended to betray him. Lion'El Johnson is currently leading the Arisen, which is a increasingly larger group of Fallen Dark Angels who joined him in his effort to rebuild the imperium after the fall of Cadia. Most of this is covered in the book "The Lion : Son of the Forest" by Mike Brooks which is quite honestly a great read I recommend.

@@ShinGetsu857 I have already read it, it's just not really relevant for Azrael's little self reflection speech so decided to opt out from bringing up current lore as it would provide no further context and potentially just confuse them.

I've been waiting for this episode to come up. This was the newest episode when I stumbled across the Text-to-Speech series. Even without context, I loved nearly everything about it. The "negotiations" in binary alone absolutely sold me on going back and watching the rest of the series.

Lol, in case you missed it, Santodes gets a psychic punch in the head from the Emperor because HE is the Daddy of the Custodes, Kitten is more like the step-mother and Emps doesn't take kindly to his children forgetting who birthed them

Clearly Cypher was the one who threw that book at the Fabricator-General so that he would have it on hand when the dark angels arrived. I think the Emperor is getting grumpier as the episodes progress, although it would be very strange because it would mean that Magnus is right about something. The methods to achieve immortality in Warhammer 40k usually have serious, extremely negative side effects. The Imperial Web was a plan by the Emperor to be able to connect to the Galactic Web created by the ancients and currently used by the Aeldari and travel the galaxy without depending on the warp, which is why there is access in the imperial palace. In canon things went wrong in the Horus Heresy and it became a portal to the warp blocked only by the Emperor sitting on the golden throne. If the Emperor ever stops blocking that tear in reality, a new eye of terror could be created where the solar system previously stood. No one knows what he wants or what side Cypher is on, except that he seems to want to carry a broken sword before the Emperor. He was really close to achieving it once but they threw him into the guards' cells, perhaps the first to ever achieve it, from where he escaped, just as he had escaped many times from the cells of the dark angels. They both continue trying to capture him. Cypher is a Fallen, a dark agent belonging to half of the Legion that rebelled against their primarch following the Horus Heresy, which led to the destruction of the Dark Angels' homeworld and the Fallen being scattered across time and space. space. The other dark angels have been chasing them ever since. This continues even after the recent return of He Lion's primarch, although some changes have occurred since then. Although the dark angels are obsessed with keeping the division of their legion and the existence of the Fallen in complete secret, resorting to extreme methods to do so, the primarch himself does not give much importance to it being known. The reason some Custodes don't wear armor is because of a canon/art conflict. In the ancient art and background the Custodes stopped wearing armor as penance for having failed the Emperor in the Horus Heresy, appearing in the art as people in loincloths, capes and helmets. When the Custode army first appeared as miniatures it was in the Horus Heresy game where the Emperor was fine and the Custodes wore their full equipment. When GW decided to make the Custodes an army in 40K he decided to skip that part of the background to have an army of giants in golden armor, instead of an army of giants in loincloths, with helmets and capes. Although I am not a fan of the changes in the background, I understand the reasons and it seems especially appropriate in this case. We can assume that the phase of not wearing armor as a sign of shame was overcome in a couple of millennia after the Heresy. The presence of both kinds of custodes joke old background, versus new background that contradicts and replaces it. Since guardians gain names throughout their lives, if I had recited all of Kitty's names it could have possibly taken hours or even days. Custodes use auramite for their armor and equipment, it's like adamantium but better. Although the Empire only accepts the worship of the Emperor (and saints, miracles, various aspects, etc...) as the only permitted religion, the Emperor is also considered the Omnissiah, a manifestation of the Machine God of the Mechanicus, which is what which allows the mechanicus to be apart of the Empire while having their own religion in practice. Nobody in the Empire likes this but the Mechanicus is vital so nobody can do anything about it. Noctis Labyrinth is an extraordinarily dangerous region of Mars, it has been quarantined at least since the Horus Heresy and possibly longer and is full of all kinds of monstrosities, sentient viruses, killer AIs, monsters and various incomprehensible technological horrors. The Fabricator General is sending them to their deaths, deliberately or not, while he maintains plausible deniability. Constantine Valdor was the first Captain-General of the custodes and perhaps the greatest, it is assumed that he had more names than any other custode, his fate is unknown, one day he simply disappeared taking all of his equipment. Kitty is very hard on himself. Technically, although it should not be possible, the setting is still in the 41st millennium thanks to massive time distortions by the cicatrix maledictum that apparently vomits time and that means that different places in the galaxy are on different dates but somehow it is always the 41st millennium. Although the custodians are referred to as the 10,000 in reality their number could be much larger or smaller, it is speculated that this is deliberate to hide their true numbers. Clearly Cypher was the one who threw that book at the Fabricator-General so that he would have it on hand when the dark angels arrived. Belisarius Cawl is a very recent character in the game but who has altered the background of the galaxt of 40K immensely, he was partially responsible for the return of Robute Guilliman and is the creator of the primaris space marines and all their equipment that has already replaced the 98% of the original space marines. He has been alive since before the Horus Heresy, met the Emperor in person, is considered a conduit of Omnishiah (something like someone through whom the machine-god speaks directly) and even manages to operate in a similar way to how a scientist would. real without being declared heretek and executed. If it seems like he has multiple personalities it is because I believe that in fact he has multiple personalities and minds acting together, with his own as the main mind/personality in charge. He was compared to a conductor conducting an orchestra's symphony. Azrael's monologue points out the absurdity of the dark angels' secrecy and paranoia, what they have done to keep the secret of the Fallen is more damning and more damaging to the Imperium than the secret they seek to keep. Even his own primarch after returning did not give any importance to said secret.
