Amateur writer here. I’ve been trying to write my own stories since I was 13, and while I had one that lasted 3 years, it eventually stopped being fun because I over planned. Every other story I’ve tried to write has not lasted more than a couple months, and it’s gotten to the point where I’ve practically become addicted to writing down ideas for stories but never actually writing them. The document where I keep all of my ideas is well over 16 pages long, with everything from horror to fantasy to sci-fi concepts that are all missing that special something. With that being said, this is peak writer’s block interpretation.

However, I guess it could be quite entertaining watching me, an INFP who is as brave as a chicken and likes sitting indoor all day, by myself with my laptop, preferably surrounded by animals because they don't add to the noice inside my head (I don't have any pets of my own though), anyway where was I? I lost my train of thoughts there for a minute (when I should do sth it could last a lot longer). So where was I? A right,... attempting a murder... 😅 chances are high only I find it funny because I can imagine the situation vividely

As a writer, I really appreciate this little plot-twist (and it's true) :D I remember when I had a big writer's block during the pandemic (almost throughout the whole pandemic). And I knew what was causing it but I couldn't do anything about it. In my case inspiration always brought great ideas but something was blocking them (but at least now I know what really happened ;D). And I do feel like, as a writer, you also need motivation along with the ability to put your ideas into writing rather than just having a concept.

I just love this. 🥰 As a fiction writer I feel this. My writer's block is called perfectionism and as an INFJ that's built into my operating system. When my perfectionism and I have a discussion again, I shut him up with "Done is better than perfect, so I have room for new ideas.". This doesn't always work, but it works more and more often.

OK, as an INTP I have the problem of too many ideas to know what to do with. I finally narrow it down to one to start working on, and more keep coming to me till I'm enticed by a new idea. Miraculously last year I was able to actually finish and publish a book, but that was after many of these distractions. I wish I could share my ideas with other creative people to run with, but I've found that most artists find enjoyment/purpose (be it frustrating at times) in coming up with their own ideas.
