54:27 Ben’s comments about insulin doing damage to the arterial walls, I would say it’s more chronically increased glucose which is doing the damage. Steve’s approach to it is rational and nuanced. Another way to think about it high glucose+FFA+insulin decreases insulin sensitivity (especially with low energy turnover/not enough exercise), which in turn is what causes increased glucose and free fatty acids in the blood, which then become oxidized and cause damage that way. On the other end, if you have low insulin, elevated glucose+FFAs from high cortisol/chronic stress/stimulants all increasing glucagon levels (I.e during extreme cutting) you will accumulate oxidative stress just as, if not more quickly as well. The effect of androgens and thyroid hormones put into the mix adds further nuance as well.

Great point I agree. I love occasional pre pwo insulin use. My rule is I have to believe it’s good for me. I refuse to take things that are giving me health trade offs. For me once per week (at most) using it with a lot of hydration intra workout nutrition and a very long workout works really well for me. Again occasionally I see it like filling up the body rapidly. But one shot of slin can do a lot. It’s like this with most PEDS a small amount can be metabolism and health promoting. But we know what too much does and I mean too much for us individually.
@corneliusparkin2401Ай бұрын
Why are people focusing on the external aka doses others are taking? The only thing that matters is. The drugs you’re currently taking are they health promoting? If not sure then do tests. Just never ever take drugs with the knowledge that you’re now damaging your health. Never voluntarily hurt your health because it doesn’t matter what drug or action it is that you’re taking. The problem is with your behavior because it’s self destructive. This is bodybuilding! What you’re doing is part mental illness. I have been there for a long time also. Only now can I see what a problem of a mindset that truly is.

Ben is one of the most intelligent coaches I’ve ever seen. And I’ve followed him since I started and copied his leg training. Now 2.5 years later I’m 80+ lbs heavier of lean muscle tissue. This guy is the GOAT!!! Cheers to both of most intelligent guys in the game!

Ben was one of the OGs that influenced how I programme even now. Been great seeing his evolution. His Mi40 was one of the first programs I followed and to this day is a big part of my own bodybuilding principles. Ben, Kai, Les Brown and Elliott Hulse are the 4 Horsemen as to why I'm still alive. Always grateful to have had them to look to whilst growing up. Im a better coach, father and man because of their influence.

I had the same thing with my gut. When I was a kid I was fat. So when I started to weight train and diet as a kid I intentionally spent the majority of my day sucking in my lower stomach and vacuuming as much as possible. Then eventually when I got older I fell out of training. Over the years picking it up again I immediately started getting little power back tweaks. The only change over time was not focusing on sucking in my stomach all day and training abs. I became less aware of my core function and being able to control it. Boom.. lower back injury and distended stomach

It’s interesting when you said your test levels were the same on hCG vs testosterone but you looked and felt better on testosterone. I think this is also why you can have high IGF and GH levels from generics but with the same readings (or even less) on pharma GH you will look and feel much different.
