This is a pretty disingenuous review. Sure, Reforged still RETAINS the fun gameplay, most of the features of original, and the compelling story of the campaign of the original. However, it is poorly optimized (especially the main menu), it's missing some features, and custom games have been utterly neutered. If you review a remaster you shouldn't pretend it is a new game, you need to compare it to the original too and Reforged falls completely short in that regard.

Fine. But that isn't what they did, the game is broken beyond repair, the graphics glitch out constantly and it is too hard to see wtf is going on. I agree in parts, however, I feel that this is a 75% review of Warcraft III and a 25% review of Warcraft III Reforged. Most of the positives you mention are part of the original game and not Reforged, these should be discounted from the review because if they are the only positives you might as well play the old game which most fans already have. What would compel someone to buy Reforged? That is where we find this product, an extremely poor execution missing many new features that were promised, ruining old features that used to work perfectly fine. This is not a Blizzard standard product and people should not be encouraged to purchase something the developer should be embarrassed having their name associated with. A game developer wouldn't be offering automatic refunds for a 7/10 game.

Considering I don't have WC3 anymore, I probably will buy this honestly. And I stopped playing mostly because there weren't enough people online anymore to play the custom maps I like. Now that people are playing again is enough of a reason for me to buy. Even if it is just a small upgrade (and even if it has some bugs). Also I heard they just released a 2GB patch to address a lot of those issues. It's funny I almost called it a 'port' but there is nothing to port from/to. Did WC3 have 3440x1440 support? I look forward to trying this out, hopefully the custom maps (I loved TDs lol) are still around.

I think WC3 Reforged greatest sin is it removes the original WC3 ROC and TFT. The Classic mode in WC3 Reforged has changes/bugs that I've never seen b4 from the original games, like Grom becomes Grommash even the audio still calls him Grom, all the children are not killable even when you're playing as DK Arthas (regarding children, there's something odd in human campaign chapter 3, the area where you first meet KT), in blood elves campaign chapter 2 the doom guards do not destroy the observatory tower, etc. I did not mention at least 1 major and 2 minor bug and 1 change, but I think u get the idea that the Classic version has twisted things quite a bit.

Like, you can create your own scenarios, images, models etc but at the end of the day, Blizzard will own your made custom maps in the hopes of finding another DotA and actually having the rights to it.
