@Vendeteran The "Signals Disrupt our Thoughts" is referring to a 'sentient computer' left by an ancient race was used to further human 'awakening' by influencing hope and goodness in us all but was corrupted by 'certain' forces to do otherwise, by doing the opposite, like causing wars, violence, greed etc. Atlantis was once a technologically advance society that was destroyed by the sea, it is said that before their demise they had spread their knowledge and wisdom to other great civilizations

For people who have trouble understanding the point and meaning of this trailer: Secret World is heavily story-driven sandbox mmo. All of the text lines in this trailer are actual plotpoints that make a complete and the whole point is for players to figure out on what exactly it all means, what exactly is happening, WHY it is happening and what it leads to. I recommend you reading up on TSW arg progress so far. A lot of these things have been explained and/or hinted upon already :)

I can see the commercial now: Fade in on a man huddled in a corner of a dingy room, his arms bound by a straight-jacket. Hunched over, the first few lines spill from his lips. His body rocking as if to comfort himself, he continues, the words spewing forth as if saying them would release him from madness. I hope that theory that the pyramids, Bermuda triangle, some place in South America with deformed species and unexplained radiation, I think stone henge, and a LOT of other places around the world create a geometric pattern like a map that ancient advanced aliens(i think the original humans) use is real. This would be perfect for this game since its global and uses all these mysterious places. Its big enough to be what the main plot is based on at the end of the game.

@braxx02 I think you're missing the picture... The Secret World is based off of real life myths and conspiracy, mixed with a twist of fantasy and epic. The Secret World has open world pvp, Stone Henge won't be too special. As for the Cabals ruling the world, there are plenty of organizations trying to take over all the time, it has nothing to do with guilds. The hollow earth part is a rl myth, put in game as the source of the evil you're fighting

@pexpix everything is connected. All those seemingly unconnected lines are part of bigger plot, bigger puzzle of the game. A lot of these quotes have been hinted and used in ARG already. TSW world and lore will be a big puzzle players will need to sort out and figure out when game launches. The whole point of game is to figure out why and what is happening. As for Wagtail? its a nickname for certain person important to the plot :)

@Tunafrisk Thats actually a real thing(just like most of those things, for example, eleven days ARE missing in the modern calendar. :]) Since about a decade ago there has been a severe and sudden and fast-growing decline in bee population over the world. Scientists find entire bee hives completely empty and abandoned. There are many theories on what causes this and nothing is known. Ans also, the bees have more metaphorical sense in the game too :)

EA is just a game convention tent and box copy printer for this game. All development costs, subscriptions, download copies, creative control etc are Funcom. And oddly enough, Funcom seems to be doing things right. There's a few rough edges, but the game is far less buggy than the majority of mmo launches. Plus there is heavily staffed (and actually helpful) in-game support and customer service. #1 mmo for writing, voice acting, character building, setting, graphics, and quests with no 'boar'

Don't think TOO much into this guys. In The Secret World, every conspiracy theory (that is about organizations and supernatural, but probably not aliens etc) is true. When it says "Atlantis is Rising", it means it literally - that there was once Atlantis and you'll either discover it or find the first clues to it. And the stuff gets epic towards the end because the main story of the launch game of TSW is about the 2012 end of the world. You must stop or postpone it, the end of the planet.

@atarileut I feel ya on that, but honestly most media are going this direction, or at least the DLC route for updated content. So what you do is pay for as long as you know your time can be devoted the most and just unsubscribe while you take time off. Unfortunately, if you do enjoy these types of games you've got to compromise somewhere. Alternatively, you might try checking out one-time fee MMOs like the upcoming Guild Wars 2--looks very promising.

@crywolf30 I plan to do so, but I've been looking forward to both games as I feel they both offer something different to the genre. I'll definitely be checking this one out. Pay-to-play MMOs tend to reach their peak at end game and then go stale for a time while new content is being developed with a series of patches to balance things and kind of string people along in-between. I may just subscribe to play all the puzzles and initial content then let my account go dormant during said slow times

If you delve into the new age beliefs and conspiracies you would find a disturbing relation to "seemingly" unrelated mythologies, conspiracies etc. to paint a picture of a unfathomable "truth." It goes beyond life and death, magic and science, gods and demon to the questionable role of humanity in the universe. It all comes down between the battle of secrets and the truth, not good vs evil, and what we do with those truths. By the way, Apocalypse is Greek for "lifting the veil"

If it was to be a one time pay to play I'd buy it. But For games that are to pay monthly I will easily pass up the opportunity for a game to play. I don't care how great a game may seem, I don't think any game is worth paying a monthly bill to play. Games should be bought once, played, and enjoyed without the fear of missing a payment and losing the ability to play a game you work so hard on to accomplish high levels. Just my opinion.
