thanks for these videos; I just bought a CIH 685 with a loader and it's my first tractor and diesel engine; I have a lot to learn.

Feel like you and I are in the same boat! ;-) Bought our 674 diesel a few years back with zero experience and still feel like a neophyte....have learned ALOT on this channel!

I have a 574 which has 8025 hours on it. I love it for mowing. I’ve had to rebuild the swept back axle due to a loader. Replace all the metal lines due to holes vibrating in them and I’m currently changing out the steering motor. Also most that I’ve seen the parking brake is shot. Neat video.

Haha all those things you mentioned are in tomorrow’s video! Thanks, I’m glad I was able to cover the issues pretty good.

I was just going to comment about that too, you don't want a loader on a 574 with Y axle

Can you possibly do shows on a IH 254 hydraulics .. ie where to check hydraulic pressures .. check pump .. 3pt does not work / lift ...
@mec75682 жыл бұрын
International 574s and 464s also were available with gas (C-200 and C-175) USA-built engines without sleeves. I believe they were assembled in Louisville using kits.

Can you do a video on ih 254 3pt hitch doesn't work ... everything else works .. ie.. pto clutch or anything else that uses the hydraulics Thank you so much...

You mention antifreeze filter systems. I have both a 684 and a 585. Can you tell me who sells the coolant filter kits for these German diesels? Thanks

More good information. We used to have a IH 674 gas utility with a Great Bend Loader. Overall, good tractor. We had to replace the engine block due to one of the cylinder walls wearing thru. I think it may have had a brake issue also, been a while. After we sold it, years later my dad was working at an implement dealer & he had to work on it due to the operator breaking one of the shift levers off flush with the transmission housing. Stay safe.
@PAFarms6 жыл бұрын
Yea I forgot to cover the issues with the brakes sometimes. If they sit too long you have to bleed them.

One thing to look at for clutch is oil seal in input shaft it will wet the clutch and saturate the starter.

Great information. I have a Case IH 784. I'm not sure if the clutch needs to be replaced or just adjusted. Do you have any videos on adjusting or replacing a clutch? Thanks!

Where are your boots on the shifters for the 85 and 95 series tractors? I know the first ones that came out on the 84 series shattered in the cold but the replacements lasted well. Helps keep the dirt and snow out of the linkages from on top. When we shut down our dairy operation we had an '86 684 4wd no cab with a 2250 loader, an '89 685 2wd no cab, and an '80 3288 2wd with cab. 684 seemed underpowered but the 685 was great and we used it for everything (cheaper to replace also if the hours got too high). Now I only have a B-414 to snowblow the driveway.

Do you know where I can get them. I have been looking for them online and haven’t found any. I imagine if I go to CNH I will pay a fortune, the 395 has them on but they were all cracked so I took them off. The 685 was that way when I bought it.

Ever see a GAS 574? Found it has an IH engine, installed in Ky, in the same UK tractors as the diesels, that were sent here without engines... Im on a mission to find out what IH gas engine was used, and what other units it was used in... Any insight.

These are incredible videos...especially for someone who did not grow up around anything larger than a yard/compact tractor...thanks! Curious...we picked up a 674 a few years back and overall its run like a champ. Basic maintenance has been straight forward. The antifreeze filter kit you mention at 5:20, do you have a link or any additional information on that? Thanks!
@PAFarms2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don’t have a link but any case ih dealer should be able to help you out with it.

Just got a CASE IH 595 for $300!!! I'm having a hydralic steering issue. The (I would call rack and pinion-ha) hydrawlic steering cylinder under the front of the tractor and between the two wheels leaks oil from the seals at each of the ends. Is this a simple change and what do you call this part? I'm hoping I can just pull of the ends of the cylinder and replace the external seals. Thank you.

Yes I didn’t cover the brakes in part 2. But yea we would occasionally have brake issues, usually ended up being the o rings on the brake pistons.

Really good information! How rare is 4wd in the utility line-up? I haven't seen many myself.
@PAFarms6 жыл бұрын
You see it a lot more in the bigger models like the 885 and usually it’s the models with a cab. I see lots of 885, 895 4x4 with the XL model cab on them. Not as common in the 60hp range.

74 to 85 series have totally different shifters, not just longer levers. Mid 84 series the speed transmission shifters changed from Z pattern to H pattern. I think they changed when the 84 series paint scheme changed. So 74 and white side 84 series have Z shifters, then all red 84, 85, and 95 series have H shifters.
