Brawlhalla is more floaty and emphasizes on using dodges and movement for defense. Rivals is less floaty and has many more movement options and character variety, using very potent defence with the parry mechanic which leads to hard punishes. Rivals definitely has more replayability because of how much you are able to learn on each individual character. Brawlhalla is much more straightforward and is essentially a platform fighter stripped down to its basics, which isn't a bad thing. You will find matches much faster in brawlhalla
