Men aren’t green with envy or jealous over over someone they view as a really good player. Men are wired differently than women. It shows up in how they view other women. Women view other women as a threat to themselves and it was put on full display this season when it came to Caitlin Clark. But she played through it and kept on pushing herself to be better.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Among guards, Ionescu is close, and Arike and some others (Loyd, Copper, Young) have some game...although I think CC is already the best guard in the league. In the frontcourt, Wilson, Collier and Stewie are all very good -- and polished. But sure, I would much rather watch CC. You have to bow down to certain players and acknowledge your "white privilege" constantly to be embraced. A video is now circulating where A'ja talks about Paige to Kelsey Plum, saying, 'She knows her privilege got her there. And she's good at basketball, obviously. She reminds me of you, that's a compliment.' Kelsey's response: 'Thank you.' Basically, Aja saying that yeah she can play, but all this attention Paige gets bc she's a white girl. People want you to do good, but not better them. These older player are definitely envious about attention the new generation is getting. Most of these older players stuck in a "victim" mindset, thinking their lack of attention or money is due to their race, while others succeed purely because of "white privilege".
@PandaPanda-cn7yn
@PandaPanda-cn7yn Ай бұрын
@@Mirror_of_the_Soul00 Race is definitely a major factor in these conversations around the WNBA today. A'ja sees the attention and endorsements that players like Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark are getting, and wonders why she isn’t reaching that same level of success. From her perspective, it’s because she’s not white like them. This sentiment is clear in the video circulating now. In other instance, before Caitlin Clark even stepped foot on a WNBA court, A'ja was already making comments, telling the Associated Press that Caitlin's popularity is tied to her being white. A'ja even said it "boils her blood" when people deny the racial component to Caitlin’s rise. But let’s not overlook how playing this "white privilege" card has also worked for A'ja and got her a shoe deal. Nike even pushed back on CC's shoe release bc they scared of the uproar.

Thank you Adrienne, For bringing this to our attention. I thought the video honoring that young rookie in the NBA was a Very Good thing. Having Strong leadership and Support and Showing Love and Appreciation in Surrounding a young person or Athlete is important , especially in Sports, where so much is On those young Rookies’ Shoulders, and they are thrust into The Spotlights, with all of The Pressures and expectations thrown at them right away, which can sometimes overwhelm them. I’m sure, it was Humbling and Warming for That NBA Rookie to Feel that Respect , Love and Support, as You could clearly see that upon His Face. And yeah Adrienne, wouldn’t that be something if only Caitlin Was warmly Welcomed and Shown Care, Appreciation, Respect and Support that way. I know this much, and I’ve said it before, Until The Failed WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, and WNBA Director Terri Jackson are Removed or Forced to Resign, The WNBA is going to Operate Under Dark and Dirty Politics. And I honestly dont Know Who Holds The Power and Authority to Remove The WNBA Commissioner, I mean, is it Owners? Some kind of Player Rep. Panels? The NBA Execs??? Does anyone know or have checked into that? The WNBA Commissioner and Director have Failed Neglently in their Oaths of their Duties, Obligations and Responsibilities. How are they able to Still Remain in Power? This reminds me alot like Star Wars, with the Evil Emperor - Played by’Cathy Engelbert’ of The Empire - ‘The WNBA’ and The Jedi’s, Jedi Council and People- Caitlin and Other Good Clean Players and The Fans’. With The Emperor Ignoring the Injustices, and Creating Laws to make Illegal things- legal and Whom Remains in Power Despite Calls of Injustice and Corruption. Well, being a huge Star Wars Fan since I was Young, I know how that all ends in Star Wars, So I guess I can hope that Jedi’s Like Caitlin Clark, and The many other good wholesome Players, Along with The Freedom Fighters Out here- Us Supporting Fans, can Somehow Some Way Use The Force To Bring Balance and Peace Back into The WNBA Universe in WNBA Galaxy Far…Far Away.

I have to add a few other things...being Canadian I am and have always been impressed with how Americans honor and pay respect. Americans do it up right. I was impressed with the care, attention to detail, and respect given at Gainbridge when I visited. If the WNBA fumbles this ROTY celebration I fully anticipate the Fever and the mayor of Indianapolis and Fever fans will take the lead and give Caitlin Clark the just respect she deserves and they will DO IT UP RIGHT!

I'm sure next year they'll celebrate it like never before, this year CC will probably get an iron on patch or something

So true. For all the commentary all season on the ROTY race now that CC won it there's nothing but crickets.

Good for the men! Love this! None of the men showed any insecurity about their own talents by giving props to another player. Very classy

What a powerful video! Tears in my eyes. Well deserved Wemby! the fact is that the WNBA was not ready for the Impact CC brought, hopefully the organization learns from its mistakes.

Thank you for sharing that video with us. I was unaware that it existed, I felt tears welling up, and I am a man. Heartfelt.💌 Can the WNBA do this, honestly, I don't think so😢

I can’t see the WNBA doing anything for Caitlin, especially after watching 60 minutes. Cathy, the commissioner, kept bringing up other rookies, when she was asked a Caitlin question. The interviewer, even stated that to her. Why when I ask you about Caitlin, you bring up other rookies. As for the players of the WNBA, I know some that do like her, not all want her out. Certain words I don’t like to use, so I just said out.

Thank you, Adrienne, for your unbiased discourses. I gave up journalism in college (late 70s) as even then truth was becoming secondary to manipulative fiction. Your coverage is totally refreshing! And most insightful. Blessings to you!

If the WNBA will not do something similar for CC, perhaps the NBA should do it in place of the WNBA.

@janetsears6673 that would be awesome. However the wnba and ESPN would then label the NBA as misogynistic racist homophobes.

Wow, that was very touching of NBA players to come together and gave this young man congratulations and encouragement for the future. What did the women do, hating and jealousy

It's the same that takes place in business..in my own career I had natural gift but when my experienced peers saw my quick success they did everything to pull me down emotionally. I am much like Caitlin in that I brushed it off, and 14 years later I have my own business..but it was hurtful that women were so jealous. My male peers lifted me up and encouraged me.

I’ve always been saying this. The NBA elevates their rookies and welcomes them with open arms because ALL players know when a player brings eyes and ratings to their league EVERYONE prospers. And this goes beyond after a team leaves the playoffs.

I teach my girls like i was taught & learned. No matter how great you are, there's always somebody greater. Don't be a sore loser. Don't be a sore winner. Your parents want you to be greater than them. Not like them nor less than them. Records are made to be broken. Celebrate in the win or the loss. Eventually, all that greatness & such fades away.

Exactly what you said. All these women are petty jealous, with a “it should have been me” attitude. Such a shame. And here she is, behind the scenes, trying to negotiate extra money for everyone, including all those who were maliciously attacking her physically on the court. So many of the same players send Vic congratulations have already been doing it and hyping Caitlin already. The W is a sad state of affairs. 🤦‍♂
