The Austrian is the only narrator I've liked so far.

In the Hollywood movies about knights in full plate armor the combatants can barely move. I'm thinking of Tony Curtis in 'Black Shield of Falworth.' Most of the other classic knighthood movie like 'Ivanhoe' were earlier and the combatants fought in mail. Various writers like Michael Crichton have argued that knights could move just fine in plate. He seems to have been correct. Cardiovascular fitness looks critical especially on a warmer day.

They are not wearing full plate though ?

raryraru I imagine many fighters are wearing brigandine underneath the surcoat, which is a type of plate armor. If you want to see people running and jumping around in white armor (uncovered full plate armor) you can find videos on youtube.

Actually rather a Nodachi. A Katana isn't very long. Shorter than a Longsword.

katanas are very bad weapons
@raryraru8 жыл бұрын
They are not. They are not designed to parry a lot though so if you are not looking for a lethal fight they are quite unsuited for this type of tournament.

they arent made for this type of combat, when the japanese used them their targets were more then likely in cloth and leather. A katana would never work against plate armor.
