Let me first say, being Błack, I don’t know how other groups treat their own and am not fully familiar with the inner workings of other worlds since I am not them so I’m not sure what goes on in those other spaces but .... for Błack spaces and everything we have to say about us .... goodness gracious. It seems that being VERY free to rip our own apart is what we do. You have to have some EXTREMELY tough skin to thrive among us, and it’s sometimes just to thrive in your own family and “friend” group. We can be brutal with our “opinions” and “scrutiny.” We’ve seen that over and over, that we can put more sting on things than any other group. We understand the assignment with “Okay, Błack Twìtter. She finally has the type of friend she’s been praying for & people are so quick to now staple her back to who she was before she was redeemed & set free. This was such a great episode! I'm glad you addressed the assumptions and accusations of the people (even though you didn't have to) but it gives language and context behind your relationship. I can honestly say at the start of the friendship, I had a raise eyebrow but I quickly put it down because I know the CHARACTER of Jackie Hill Perry. This is the first time a lot of us have seen Jackie openly affectionate in a relationship. Yes she is married but she is reserved when it comes to public affection with Preston (which is completely fine. She doesn't owe us anything and does not have to prove anything to us about her marriage). I think the enemy is trying to do what he has always done which is pervert something that is good from God. We don't often think about the effects the disciples influence did to their mental health and families, but give them honor because they did it out of true love and reverence for the Lord. The disciples/apostles didn’t have families. The only one married was Peter. Hard for us to believe but the disciples were teens, for the most part, very young. Jesus knew what he was doing in choosing His disciples at that age. Choosing grown, middle age men who were also had the responsibility of being husbands and fathers to come be His own would be such a burden to them. It’s a lot to do ministry.

If they focused on the sin in their own life they wouldn’t have time to critique their friendship. It’s easier to project the hatred towards them b/c it allows these people to feel better about themselves. Keep up the good work Jackie! I remember I was praying for a family members sobriety and you said it's holiness God wants from us. I stopped praying just for them to get sober, but for God to make me holy so my prayers would be answered. It changed my prayer and perspective even though it was a completely different delivery story. They are now sober, going on three years now! Praise God!

I'm a 45 year old man and I've only had one friend (outside of my wife) like you guys friendship. But he's no longer with us and it's been over 7 or 8 years since I've had a friend. Now I'm just out here walking this walk alone, outside of others simply just knowing I exist. Praying for you both! I think just on like an introspective type thing. Many people who are slandering you perhaps don't believe ya'll are who you say you are because they in fact are not who they say they are. One of the hardest seasons of my life has been accepting that I am not a woman of integrity and I can behave different around different people, and that when I was judging others it was often out of a condemnation of myself.

My best friend loves me to the moon and back and people get so confused about that. We’ve received side eyes for how close we are. If you haven’t experienced a closeness, and a sisterhood with a friend, it will never make sense to you and the world will always find a way to pervert it, especially if you are both attractive. She never said she was giving up; she said she’s empty because she has poured out so much for years in the Kingdom of God. It’s important for her to rest and spend time with the Lord. At the end of the day, she is a soul, and it would be tragic for her to help others make it into the Kingdom of Heaven while missing God herself. She is doing this for her personal relationship with the Lord. She has given us so much through her books, sermons, music, teachings, and poetry. Now, she needs to be renewed because she is still running the race like the rest of us. The reason so many people become lukewarm and fall away is that they refuse to pull away and spend time with God. She is doing the right thing. There is a time and season for everything, and God wants her to rest and spend time with Him.

Wow…..that bestfriend part hit me deeply. I been alone and in a season of friendlessness now that I’ve gotten close to the Lord. They all mostly aren’t. It’s been isolating. I remember when Ashley and b Simone split as bestfriends, I somehow felt second hand pain. I remember the version of you then, she was soooo different then the you now. It’s amazing to see. I look up to the both of you guys so much as women of god jackie was the one of the first women i heard that gave their life to god that i actually listened to she presented the love of god by educating me on where my actions would have got me since the videos i watched of her I’ve been baptized and i also turned away from homosexuality as well and ashley have taught me so much patience even though i dont have any kids my sister has really bad behavior issues so just hearing the vulnerability of her heart towards god even when she blamed herself for her praying she had a child is so admirable she still went to him!!
