The timing of this could not have been better, I've been having stomach problems since last year. Been crying out in pain, begging the doctors to help me only to be told it's ibs or it's period pain and it's NORMAL. I know my body and I know it is not normal for me. They have pretty much left me with I have a chronic condition and stress will make the pain worse so "don't worry" like that's possible. They also printed out so many pages about IBS and said they couldn't do anymore for me. We can all get through this, we are more than our pain and conditions, sending my love to all of you 💛💛

Can’t wait to watch this makes people with stomach conditions feel less alone! I have something wrong with my stomach I was diagnosed when I was around 7 I’m now 16 and it’s got so much worse I have to watch what I eat, Sometimes I can’t eat at all I have my bad days and good days I’ve got to have surgery but it might not cure it much as my problem may come back and I may need a colostomy bag if surgery goes wrong 😢 I love how u keep us up to date with your life style hope your well 💕

Leah Austin hey lovely. Just know you're not alone. I was diagnosed with Crohn's at 20 and had a ileostomy formed a few days later. There's a huge community of people with ostomy's on Instagram, so if you do need the surgery, there are lots of people that you can reach out to. Sending lots of love and positivity💜

Frankie Millard Thank you so much I’m definitely having surgery as I have a something wrong and a weak pelvis my mom has Crohn’s disease so I have a higher chance of getting it but if surgery goes wrong and I do have a colostomy bag at least it will save my life it’s worrying more as my mom nearly died in theatre hope your okay 💕

I’ve been diagnosed with gastroparesis and I am trying to get a crohns diagnosis currently. I’ve been in a&e 7 times in the last 10 weeks, 5 of them being taken by ambulance. I’ve lost over a stone in weight and all I’ve been told is it’s IBS... when I’m in pain it feels like I have appendicitis and nothing can control the pain at all. Seeing how strong and persistent you are gives me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and I will get through this. Thank you for being you xxxx

It’s crazy how much I can relate to you especially after watching this. My symptoms started following a very toxic relationship and I was told I had IBS constantly! You’re so right when you say you know your own body- I knew it wasn’t IBS and I had to be persistent in going back to my GP constantly for years before I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. You are a strong woman for speaking about this!

I can relate to SOO much of this video, it's horrible when doctors don't listen and you feel like you're constantly having to convince doctors how much pain you're in. I've been having stomach and pelvic pain for months, it's gradually getting worse and I'm super depressed but nobody will take it seriously despite it leaving me in A&E fainting and vomiting a countless number of times! I've also been through and still going through such a similar journey with regards to the IBS stuff. Sick of them telling me to relax too! This video has helped me to push for answers so thank you for this video. Also your makeup looks stunning!

there's a book called your body speaks your mind by Deb Shapiro and it's explains how your emotions can really seriously effect your body, it is spiritual but it does a really good job of explaining your mind and body relationship if you're interested in looking into that. just because one of the things it mentioned was how your emotions can get released into the body at the weakest point and this can turn into an illness which I think this really relates to what you said about how your anxiety over the years caused your stomach condition! thank you for sharing your stomach condition because before I didn't find your channel it honestly felt like I was the only young person who had stomach issues 💓

So glad you’ve done a video on this. I was 13 and having constant stomach cramps and sickness and diarrhoea, in and out of hospital and going to the gp to be told I have gastroenteritis every time. This went on FOR 10 MONTHS. Luckily I’m quite a forward person so I wasn’t afraid to tell all my teachers at school and they were great, giving me the keys to staff toilets and not having to ask to leave the class. I missed so many things in school because of this and I realised I can’t go on like this. I saw loads of people about how I was feeling and everyone gave me the same answer until my mum begged I went somewhere to be checked. As soon as I saw this one doctor he predicted I had Crohn’s Disease and sent me to be tested. He was right and although the pain didn’t stop and the disease can’t be cured, I’m happy I know what it is and how to keep it under control. I’m glad I stayed persistent and didn’t take no for an answer! Hope you’re okay!

Thank you for sharing this story. I've been incredibly ill with my stomach for years. My doctors didn't believe me. I ended up doing the two gcse years at home. I was diagnosed with coeliac disease after vomiting daily for two years and my stomach bleeding. As a result I have a lot of stomach damage and it's caused a chronic illness, ME/CFS. I'm now unable to work and it's difficult. I'm 20 and my friends are all out doing normal 20 year old things and I find having a bath tiring! It's also caused other stomach issues and I'm lactose & refined sugar free as well as gluten free. My stomach still isn't right but doctors have given up on me and just tells me 'that's life now' which is hard to deal with. But hey, at least I'm alive and I have amazing family who support me! Hope you're okay x

When I was 1 my mum took me to the doctors because my stomach was extremely bloated, she was told on several occasions that I was just constipated, untill one day and another gp appointment they rushed me to hospital and if turned out to be stage 3 kidney cancer that had destroyed both of my kidney and some of my liver. But now 13 years later after receiving the best give I could ever ask for (kidney transplant) I am now happy and healthier than ever. So I can relate to being told something that just isn't right.

Hi, I love this. I have Lupus which is an Immune System Disease. its very complex and not very well understood, I have flare up where i'm very unwell but people don't understand how it makes me feel, i feel low, alone, ugly and on top, being in pain all the way through my body, i cant use my hands, sitting up hurts and is hard to do, i come out in a rash, i loose my hair etc etc there is so many more. I live alone to, sometimes when i'm flaring I cant walk or do much for myself, something simple as opening a bottle of water, or squeezing toothpaste out. I see you always refer to it as a stomach condition, we have Crohns in our family and your problems and symptoms sound very much like Crohns. When I watch your videos, how your feeling when you are unwell, the lack of sleeping, stress. I feel I understand as stress is a huge trigger for me. it makes me feel a little better about it as i'm not on my own. As lupus is a hidden disease, i can be feeling a bit crappy but because i've managed to put a little make up on i wont look bad, its one thing I hate is when someone says 'you dont look unwell' sorry for waffling, I really appreciate you and how raw your videos are. xx

LITERALLY!! I swear GPs assume all stomach issues are IBS. I have never had any further investigations, despite going back numerous times. I have a permanent lump to the left of my belly button and I was hospitalised at 10 with severe stomach pains and vomiting and was later told by my GP it's IBS. With a dietician, I found cutting out anything with milk/lactose helped and I haven't touched any since, but 14 years later, I still frequently have severe flare-ups for no reason. I can't put on weight either, no matter how much I eat... I've genuinely been the same weight since I was 13yrs old and the reflux is just awful. Shoutout to all the other huns living with chronic/ invisible illnesses. Stay Strong xxx

Love this series of storytimes. My condition started in 2016 I got told it was stress and then got told it was my appendix. Got my appendix removed and I got no better doctor kept fobbing me off. Went to Egypt on holiday in 2018 and got incredibly unwell over there I was hospitalised. Multiple tests and things later I was eventually diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. This was confirmed when I got back to the UK and I've been in and out of hospital every since on different medications etc etc. I'm glad I eventually have an answer but I now just need a form of treatment to work xx

I cant even express how grateful I am for this video. I've been so unwell for the past 2 weeks with my stomach but I am petrified of hospitals (especially with the current situation) so I really put off going to the doctor for as long as possible. Similarly to you I was told I had IBS for so long and only now have they concluded that something more serious is going on. Youre videos really help me feel better by easing my anxiety and giving me hope that it will get better eventually! If you could get through all the tough times and come so far then theres hope for all of us too!

Last year I was finally diagnosed with PCOS and IBS. It was the worst time of my life! I have never felt so ill and low in mood in all my life! There were so many time’s I couldn’t go to work due to being in so much pain, I’d be on the phone crying my eyes out, I Hated not being able to go to work, I felt like I was letting everyone down. I never wanted to go out anywhere. I went to the doctors so many times over it all. I finally got put under gastroenterology and had scans and what not, finally got to the end of it. Still have the odd issue, but my life has changed so much for the better now. It’s so hard having stomach issues and trying not to worry about it, knowing stress makes it worse xx

This video is going to help so many people. Thank you for sharing Imogen!! I went through multiple doctors appointments over years been told the same turned out I had to have my gallbladder removed. Although recently I’ve been waking up with acid in my mouth with is so scary. Once all this uncertainty is over I’ll go to the doctors just hope this time I might get a quicker answer. Hope you are well 🙂 xx

Thank you so much for making this video 🙏🏼 I had really bad stomach issues that started around two and a half years ago. I had the opposite to you, where I couldn’t stop going to the toilet. Back then I knew what foods would trigger it, however around a year ago it got to the point where everything I was eating would make me need the toilet immediately! I keep going to the doctors and they tested me for a few things but kept telling me it was IBS and that there was nothing more they could do. I eventually found a private allergy clinic near me and I found out I was intolerant to mainly dairy and gluten but also a lot of other things. The woman who tested me said it was triggered from anxiety and stress I had during my teens 🙁 the stomach problems caused me so much anxiety, which I am finally working through! Xx

I have an undiagnosed stomach condition. I’ve had numerous tests all coming back normal so my dr said it’s probably functional abdominal pain syndrome. Which is essentially pain that my brain creates but has no medical cause. I can’t eat most food containing gluten however tested negative for coeliac, fatty foods are a no go, tomato sauces and cooked tomatoes upset it too. Sucks so much that there seems to be no real cause or treatment. Sending love xx

I’m so excited to hear the rest! 🤩 I completely understand the pain of being told you’re fine when you’re not 🙄 the only person that truly knows your body is yourself! 🙌🏻 I had IBS from the age of 13 and I was told that I was being too anxious, I should eat better and drink more water. Finally got properly diagnosed at 16!

Agreed with the docs not understanding that if you feel something is wrong - is likely wrong! I went into hospital and knew it was appendicitis and a and e sent me off with some codeine after testing for pregnancy... even though i told them. it ruptured 12 hours later and damaged my pelvic flaw! Trust your body guys!

Thank you for being you imo. You've really changed me these last couple of years. I used to feel like i was constantly clambering onto positivity and light in life. I found you after a horrid breakup that still gets to me now (2.5 years on) but you've taught me that self dependency was achievable all along. I've allowed myself to radiate and let go of toxic situations without holding bitterness. I still do have my down days but I really do thank you for changing my mindset about life. Things are really shit again now, I lost my house and job due to what's happening in the world but I REFUSE to not see silver linings. Thank you for everything. Please never stop posting 🖤

Thank you for this video. I honestly feel like doctors use the term IBS to describe something that they can't be bothered to look into or test for. I had a very similar situation where I was diagnosed with IBS at age 15 and it was until last year that I got some proper scans done etc, that it came up that I have gallstones which I had had for 7!! Years. I ended up in hospital in December, on Fluids, Painkillers and antibiotics for 5 days straight because my gallbladder got so bad it started affecting my liver. Gallstones basically build up over time so my gallbladder is now literally full of stones, because they didn't think to check it when I first went for stomach issues. I'm still not convinced it's only gallstones, I think there's another issue too but until I have my gallbladder out, I won't know what's left in terms of symptoms. I resonate with literally EVERYTHING you've said here, from the stress and anxiety right the way through to the physical symptoms.
