Hello Dr. Ruscio, I just found your channel. Your video's are very informative! I've had SIBO for about nine months. I just finished my second - round of medication and I still feel sick. I'm going on the LowFODMAP diet and will check out the probiotics on your site.

Thank you for this video!!!! I found it to very helpful. When it comes to gut health there are so many rabbit holes a person can go down. This certainly simplifies what can seem to be an over complicated issue. I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you for doing them!!!!

I am really appreciating your recent vids on the subject of SIBO and gut health. Your research into meta analyses and keeping up with technology and research while staying truthful to your path is exemplary. Not to mention being very well-presented and understandable. After a flare with acid reflux that turned out to be SIBO, I'm back on the path of wellness and health. So, thank you for all of this much needed info!! ~From a longtime diagnosed IBS and MC consumer of YT

Dr. Im so grateful for your information. I just stumbled upon your channel and I like how knowledgeable you are. Can I be your student and work voluntarily with you, I'm so eager to learn more. I was born Asian and eat SouthEast diet the rest of my life, 17 years ago I migrated to Europe then almost 2-year ago I migrated to the U.S and holy moly I have lived across the world and paid attention to food, American diet is in the lowest pit of the bottom. I'm glad I came handy with my knowledge and lifestyle what to eat and not. I never had gut problems until I had to follow the government protocol to vex myself in order to migrate to the states. I'm still in a process to heal my gut, and it's harder than I thought. It's a very complex issue! Lord help us!

Really fascinating video! The map you showed of Asians moving over to the US and how it affects their gut microbiome/health was really interesting as well as your discussion on low FODMAPS foods as I wasn't really familiar with that diet due to all the other ones making more noise.

Why all the negativity towards grains? They are also plants, and as such have phytochemicals, antioxidants, are wonderful sources of fiber, and contain a wide array of macronutrients. Research shows people who eat more servings of whole grains have significantly lower rates of CVD, cancer, diabetes and obesity. I'm not talking about white flour or corn meal, I mean quinoa, amaranth, barley, oats, buckwheat, millet, sorghum, etc.?
@DrRuscioDC Жыл бұрын
I don't have anything against grains. In fact, I've actually talked multiple times about gluten-free diets being overblown as non-celiac gluten sensitivity is a relatively small percent of the population. It's just that some people and some conditions don't thrive with grains.

What about lectins in wheat and just lectins in general? What are your thoughts on this and gut health?
@DrRuscioDC Жыл бұрын
@@Fimp136 I took a little bit of a look at lectins in the capacity of a low-lectin diet a couple of years ago. I was surprised that there was a limited amount of data to support a low-lectin diet. That's not to say it can't be helpful to some. I just couldn't parse those who go low-lectin from those making other healthy changes (like reducing gluten, or fodmaps, etc.) which makes it hard to tell if lectin is truly an issue.
@vanessac1965 Жыл бұрын
@@DrRuscioDCI feel terrible on grains or legumes. Soy, wheat, rice, beans... All of it, plus dairy and nightshades. I'm OK with pea and hemp protein, occasionally nuts (excluding peanuts and cashews). Through eliminating and reintroducing, I discovered lectins are definitely bad for me. Meat, fruit, , vegetables excluding nightshades, is my ideal for weight, energy, gut, hormones. I'm aging backwards

Plant based eating is better for the gut microbiome. Keep away from biased research that keep stating that meat and diary are good for the gut microbiome. Eat organic only and as natural as possible. A big no to this research. See the new research behind the Netflix documentary “You are what you eat”. Thanks.

Carnivore definitely works for people. Quite a few people in my practice have benefitted from it. There's just not as much research to support it for gut health, specifically. But as more comes in, I'll be sure to do an update.

@DrRuscioDC yeah, I had stool testing done a year ago through Genova Diogstic. Had bad Yeast Disbiostis. Taking Enzymes because wasn't digesting fats well not sure what else it was of my head. Fiber is horrible for me. Broccoli Brussel sprouts beans are those and more are a nightmare! Low fod map helps. There still some things get gas from. Taking Creon which I get free through prescription. My stomach still not great over a year. I take betaine HCi with pepsin gentian bitters. Apple cider vinegar for a while. I can't seem to fix it. Any suggestions of stuff you sell I could try? I tried Bout everything. Carnivore might be best. Long term may not be health wise.

@@DrRuscioDCwould love it if you did a video on carnivore and gut health. Specifically do I need carbs for probiotics to flourish? I had a stool test and have zero lactobacillus and half of the recommended bifado bacteria. I’d rather stay carnivore because I feel healthier but concerned the probiotics might not work as well.
