STEPHANIES' videos offer the BEST presentations, in my not so humble opinion. STEPHANIE adds all the conversions, demonstrates the process of how to... After perusing all the videos, I always choose STEPHANIES recipies👍 Her recipes are ALWAYS DELICIOUS❣ 63 yrs will catch me, January 1, 2020 and this is the first Coconut Custard Pie I'll be making, also. It was my ģrandfathers' favorite and my dad always bought it during the holidays. I followed suits but now I'm going to make it. Could this be any easier?

@ D Richmond 👍 I hope you do begin to bake. Baking is my preference, although I love to cook. Such scrumptious desserts or just anytime sweets can be had by baking. The hype is worse than the reality, when it comes to baking. BAKING IS NOT DIFFICULT and you don't need dough hooks and fancy machines. When I learned to bake, that stuff was never around and when you feel the dough change in your hands, you'll never forget it! BAKE❣ And STEPHANIE FROM THE JOY OF BAKING, maps out all the steps making baking super easy and delicious❣ Keep on baking, buddy!

I highly recommend serving this chilled. I had it warm, but then after it was left over night in frig and served cold the flavor was so very much better. It goes from tasty to absolutely delicious when you chill it. Thanks for the great fun and easy recipe.

I used only 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup sweeten coconut and 1/4 cup non sweeten coconut, 1 cup 2 % milk and 1 cup coconut milk. It smells wonderful and it taste so good, 3 of us had 2nds. I would make this again and again! Thanks for the simple recipe joyofbaking (Stephanie)! And yes, you were right, it takes longer to wash my food processor than to make this pie! lol!

I made this pie yesterday for dinner. I blended it in my Vitamix, and it was perfect. I am making a lot of bread and other recipes I have always wanted to try during our “stay-in-place” order in Illinois during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was so good I ate half of it! Thank you for the recipe.

My mama called this "Self-Made-Crust Pie". This was an all time go-to for her whenever we had a big church dinner or company at home back in the mid 60's on up till 2011, a year before she passed. Back when I was learning to cook, I would help her make all kinds of good things in the kitchen and in making this pie, sometimes we added coconut and sometimes not, which makes an awesome, delicious custard pie as well, by the way. She clipped this recipe from a Reader's Digest (TM) around 1964 or 65 and it's still in one of the many recipe boxes she had, which I now have. I'm in my 60's now and I still love and use those old "vintage" recipes of her's to this day. I get lots of "Ummm, that's so good" remarks whenever I take something from an old recipe to church. This is one of the fastest and easiest pies to ever make. Anybody can do this. Thank you so much for making this video. I love all your videos. Oh, and your puppy baby is adorable.

Stephanie, first of all, you are the best KZbin Cook/Demonstrator. Second, I love how precise and informative you are and how you add some light humor here and there in your later videos. Btw, I tried this Impossible Coconut pie, but replaced the All Purpose Flour with Oat Flour and it turned out perfectly! Dealing with Dermatitis and Psoriasis, there is some ingredients in most recipes I have to either replace or not eat at all. So, thank you for all of your time and recipes! -- Alex

Since then I got addicted to joy of baking and I recommended it to all of my friends and family. You give me all that i need, accurate ingredients in ounces, grams, mls , cups , size and kind of pan, temperatures of baking, alternatives for ingredients and finely a description of the consistency and taste of the recipe!!!! The only thing is that I would love to see a list of ingredients show before you start any recipe. Thanks a lot Stephanie ❤

Didn't have a 10 " pie pan, so I used two 8" disposable pie pans. Absolutely delicious! I cooked them in the Air Fryer (10 QT) one at a time for 30 minutes each at 320 F. Was craving coconut, but too hot today for the oven to be running for an hour. Took the air fryer outside and set it inside the gas grill. Cool kitchen and 2 Great Tasting pies! *Great dessert* Tastes like Coconut Custard - which is my standard "from scratch" signature Pie. *Popular in the South - Old South -as is a Chocolate Custard Pie* Both with homemade Pie Crust and topped with Oven Golden-browned Merraigne. (Beaten egg whites with sugar - metal bowl - cold - with a pinch of Cream of Tartar to help it *Fluff Tall and Peak!* My parents had these in their restaurants and folks *Loved our Pies* and our *Broasted Fried Chicken* and *Daddy's Slow Hickory Smoked BBQ!* Dad invented his own Wicker's Marinade Vinegar Sauce - way before Wickers. I often wonder if someone used his recipe. People came from 3 state area to purchase his BBQ by the pound - he made that perfect Restaurant Slaw that goes so well with Fried Chicken or BBQ ! Has nboth mayo and Vinegar, little sugar, salt - and most Impt - Milk. I saw a recipe on KZbin for Restaurant Slaw - Cabbage and onion and the ingredients above - some folks use lemon juice, but Dad didn't. The only think I add - only when having w/pork, is celery seed. Less is always better - YUM! I miss my Parents. ❤

This recipe was a favorite during the Great Depression. It is basically a custard pie without the usual pie crust and fruit toppings. You have to generously butter the pie pan to get a nice little butter crust. Very versatile to flavor with lemon, orange, almond and others, and all flours like almond and gluten-free will work. It is easy to sub some of the eggs with a mix of 1 T ground flax seed to 3 T warm water if needed. Eggs are scarce these days where I live. Many stores have limited supplies.

@kendallweaver6386
@kendallweaver6386 4 жыл бұрын
@@PeaPie74 I think it would work fine and I do want to try it next time around, or maybe even coconut and almond flour together. The eggs are really what makes it into a custard, so any flour should work to hold it together at the same ratio of eggs to flour.

i may be wrong, but i first remember "impossible" pies associated with Bisquick(tm) baking mix in the late 60s - early 70s. it was also the era of jello 1-2-3 desserts which separated into 3 layers with just one packet of mix. not sure if they're related, but they both were the same "vintage" lol. (geez, i'm old!)i've been clipping recipes since those days, and in my recipe box, i still have some old magazine clippings of recipes for things like "impossible cheeseburger pie" or "impossible apple pie" - and the common thread was leavened flour -aka Bisquick(tm), plus eggs and milk, plus whatever filling desired. the flour mixture sinks to the bottom, the eggs form a nice custard, and the other ingredients sort of sort themselves depending on their density. so easy to do in just a bowl with a spoon, and so yummy! i actually made a "ham, swiss and spinach quiche" version a couple of weeks ago, but one word of caution - do remember to grease your pan! i forgot and had to really scrub to get my pie pan clean again. p.s. i love when baxter notices rick in the ending shots! he was just casually trotting along, then suddenly pricked up his ears and looked straight at rick and the camera! such a gorgeous boy! please give him a "scritch scratch" from me!

I made this today and it turned out really nicely. It has a great flavour (first time having coconut pie). I sweetened regular desiccated (and toasted) coconut in a saucepan with sugar and a little water. I used a hand whisk and there were tiny lumps of flour in my batter so will use a blender next time or try adding the flour to eggs/ before adding the milk? Anyway it still looked and tasted great. Kitchen smells amazing. (I also used about 1/3 oat milk and some double cream as I ran out of milk, though you’d never know!)

Stephanie, I noticed your pink apron matches the dish towel & same pink color rubber spoon with black handle & white stripes like your top! My mother & mom n law makes these impossible pies, impossible hamburger pies, impossible this & that....from the early 70's. I went to several stores to find that jello that use to separate into layers. But couldn't find it. Jello needs to bring it back. It was fun to make. I wish you would make a cookbook. I love cook books like you do. Thanks for your great recipes & cooking shows. You should be on Food Network! Love Baxter too. Your hubby does a great job in filming. Keep cooking!
