This was really refreshing. Felt like I was receiving direct, helpful advice at the beach with a beer in hand.

I'm so glad to return back and look at your YT channel here. Recently opened a yoga/art/aura photo studio and last week, pulled out my neglected Nikon D7100, (previously got some music microphones and recorder for my singing bowls.) I'm so grateful to see this video today, (maybe it is the second time, I am not sure.) Thank you.

Drew, I lost my job and had to stop the small contribution. So sorry, my friend. I'm glad you found employment. keep up the vids. Hopefully they will be monetized and you will have another stream of income.

My friend I'm truly saddened to hear about your job. I hope you can find other work quickly - or maybe this is a time and a chance to think afresh about how to achieve what you want your future to look like. Something very good can happen out of trauma, this I have learned. Open your mind to all possibilities now. I do so appreciate your kind support but you must do everything in your power to survive and thrive - and it's more important to me that you do well - know this. I haven't monetized the channel yet but YT are putting ads on my videos I've noticed - so maybe time for me to do so anyway... Peace and respect, and let me know how it goes. Drew

I’m helping on a project where people are hearing and seeing themselves presenting for what must be the first time. Some of the feedback is really surprising, creating timestamps seconds apart with comments like “can we level out the audio, I said ‘the’ too quietly, ‘that’ too loudly” when it’s all natural dynamic range (not a Compressor issue). I should send them this video and reassure them that nobody is judging them at all, let alone as harshly as they’re judging themselves!

You are like a film noir hero who, after all the troubles, decided to get away from people and get creative in order to try to forget the traumatic past.

Some great advice Drew. Really made me think and I realised that I'm quite happy just being myself and to be at peace with my unpolished self. Always enjoy and take such a lot away from all your videos Drew. Thank you for making and have a great weekend :-)

Very wise words. You‘ve almost convinced me to record myself… almost! I hate to be photographed, let alone recorded on video. I‘m sure I‘ll be watching this again in the future and maybe I‘ll push my comfort zone along - (cautiously).

CNCTurboStep - ah just go for it my friend - if an ugly ol freak like me can do it, anyone can. Who gives a flying f what others think anyway. Plus it'll do you some good - and once you get used to it it's actually quite fun.

So glad I stumbled onto your channel. Like the no nonsense style and the way you interact some channels are just annoying almost feels like they're shouting at me. Keep up the great work.

*THIS!* Yessss! Thanks so much for this, my friend! I 100% agree with commenter "Bayou Josh," this is jam-packed with sage gems. 🙏🏾 One of my early videos for my current channel covered this same basic suggestion/exercise, yet I like yours more; you really went into depth here, and I love it. Your voice is amazing, man; I could listen to it for 10 hours straight, no breaks. 😅 Much Love, Respect and Appreciation for you, gentle sir.

This channel is one of the best things i've ever stumbled across. As someone starting out in vid/photography, and completely perplexed by and fascinated with the continual confluence of irony and peculiarities of life, I really appreciate your unique and direct blend of thoughts on art, craft and life. Subscribed WITH the notification bell and everything.
