If you don't like brown to do a smokey eye, try an aubergine or dark purple. It's fab.

Thanks Gemma for the tips, I think they make a big difference in the makeup result. And another tip for the application of the concealer is to let it create creases at first and then eliminate where they are collected in the expression lines and then no more creases, it is a good tip from other makeup artist. Kisses from Chile and I adore your channel and your personality😘😘

Thank you for these tips, especially re putting eye shadow primer where your glasses hit!!!! Brilliant! What I don’t understand is why almost every KZbin mua puts foundation and concealer on first??? I always started with eye make up first. This way any eye shadow fallout, mascara smudges could be cleared without ruining anything else.

I have extremely dry sensitive skin, live in a very dry weather ( specially on the next months). I sleep with a humidifier. I do apply serum and moisturizers before my sunscreen. Wear makeup everyday, a glowy one. I can't see myself having less lines with less serum and moisturizer. I always do a trick that wayne goss showed about how to apply setting spray after foundation to last. It works. I understand living in a humid weather you can use less moisturizer (I used to and miss it). I totally get your tip about the makeup and you are awesome but weather plays a huge role at least on my skin. Say hi to your lovely Mom. Thanks for the tips! Your makeup looks lovely.

Tip #7 was eye opening for me. Everyone always talks about hurrying to set your concealer & such before it creases. I always assumed that meant asap. I've noticed tho that while my undereyes are looking better (I switched up some things), they still can look a bit dry. (I moisturize beforehand even). I feel like your tip will be perfect. Tyvm ❤️

Amen sister! WONDERFUL tips! Loved them all! I have the Benefit in brown & NYX in brown mascaras only for now at least. Lol I've found that the Ulta line of gel liners have been fantastic & lasted all day. A rainbow of colors I keep in matte, shimmery along w/an ivory, black, brown mattes & shimmers. The bronze, penny & another color I can't think of like those are brilliant! They give that brownish tint with a bit of sparkle/shimmer. I make the funny face when I put my brow, eyeliner & mascaras on & not on purpose. Lol So I haven't ever kept my hand on my face. Love the primer tip for chin & glasses area! Going to try that this weekend! I do prefer fingertips for concealer too. Feels like I have more control & I even wore the ELF Camo Luminous one this past Wed that's a fuller coverage & the fingers worked great! These tips were perfectly explained & very happy you mentioned them. Lastly, I love your look in this video Gemma! Again, the warmth of your hair color really envelopes your face/skintone so lovely. And your smokey eye makeup is stunning! Even loving your nail varnish! I have a black w/silver speckles in it from Nails Inc that it reminded me of. Just did my nails today in a burnt orange w/a more brownish orange hue like the fall leaves. I'm planning on the black for Halloween here. And your necklace is gorgeous along w/your rings! So put together like you're headed out for an evening on the town! Love & hugs to you & the entire Wolfpack! 🥰💁♀️✌🙏🧡🙏🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺👏👏👏👏👏

I don't like makeup on my hands or transferred to my make-up container exteriors either, but I completely agree concealer definitely always works best with fingers, and then a little fixing with a damp beauty blender. That's why I do makeup in the bathroom to wash my hands - but I also don't have to share my bathroom with anyone.🙄

I have a small vanity area in my master bedroom, don't share my bathroom either (Yay!), with a large LED makeup mirror I use. I dampen either a cheap washcloth or paper towel to wipe my hands off on as I go so I keep my containers/cloth table covering clean & I can sit to be comfy as my back has arthritis bad, at 48yrs. Got the Hollywood makeup style mirror on Amazon. 🐺❤💁♀️✌

As a woman of a certain age, I grew up when black liners were very popular in the late 60’s-70’s. I was so fair that I never used them preferring browns and taupes instead. I’ve noticed that the black was too harsh for me then and certainly is now. As we age our color fades and the more vibrant looks that were attractive when younger are just too much now. Just my opinion about me. Wear what makes you happy. On some occasions I like to use a pop of Pat McGrath to brighten things up.

Hi Gemma some great tips. As an alternative to brown I love a navy or grey (or a purple or burgundy or deep green lol) for my cool toned pale skin. Navy and grey are softer than black, but still tie in with most eye looks. I do still tend to wear black mascara as navy is difficult to find, but often opt for a black/brown where possible. Warm browns are not really flattering to my cool toned skin or grey eyes tbh, although they look amazing on you and others. I really liked the tip about eye primer on the face and had heard of it used on the nose before, if foundation tends to disappear from there (i can't remember which content creator gave me the tip unfortunately). Best wishes.

Gemma one of your tips that has changed my life would be one you mentioned while reviewing the Fenty eye brightener.. You mentioned using a pink or melon based shade of concealer to help color correct dark undereyes and wow has it made a difference .. I have light skin with yellow undertones and would always purchase a matching concealer . Well I now use a cool pink based concealer instead and I find I use less and it really conceals my darkness much better 🤩thank you for that life changing tip ❤️

If this were a Bible of cosmetics, this would be Genesis. You mentioned glasses! Am I nuts or does wearing glasses usually mean more eye makeup? When I have the best look and then put on glasses it looks so insignificant. Great video
@rachelelwin4503 жыл бұрын
I agree. I think you can ramp up makeup intensity wearing glasses and the glasses usually make your makeup look super hot!

Depends on whether you're long or short sighted. Short sighted means wearing glasses will make your eyes look smaller and vice versa.

I agree. I would never wear the amount of eye makeup I wear without my eyeglasses making it look as though there isn’t much at all. I wear a dark rim and think that might exacerbate that. Glad you asked. I was wondering if it made just my imagination.
