Hi Jules. I haven't been around for the past several months but hoping to get back on track. Did your day 1 Video and will continue til I feel comfortable again. I can't express to you how grateful I am to you. Hoping I can get back on track. It's been several months. Thank you again.....Celine

Welcome back, Celine!!! It's so easy to go off track...but, you can get back to it one day at a time. Just keep in mind that the move you move, the more you'll be able to move. I hope to see you back each day.

Having Covid for the past week, I haven/t been able to exercise. So I worked out to this video just to get myself moving again and it felt really good! I actually wanted more so I did squats instead if Sit-to-stands and more repetitions. It's so nice to be able to look through your videos Jules, and find what I need. Thank you!

Welcome back to exercise and good health! I’m glad to see you chose an easier one to start back. Being able to do the squats instead of the sit to stands shows you have definitely gotten stronger over the past few months.

This is the exact series of exercises I needed to get back into my routine, Jules. After working out regularly for 2 years or more with you, I took 3 months off which was unfortunate. My body has become painful, my energy low and I’ve gained weight. Today is my first day of getting back on track and I’m starting out slowly. Thank you for knowing that it can be difficult to stay focused on our health during the holidays. Happy New Year!😊💛

I completed #12 of your strength playlist and next up was this routine. I did every move but brought them to a higher level since I'm not at beginner level: more reps, punching moves that were real punches, and in general challenged myself to reach my abilities at this time. So, I found this routine lovely but, again, missed the sound. For some reason I'm only able to hear the music. My ability to follow the routine wasn't hampered at all. Thanks again, Jules...Anastasia

I m curious which video you recommend to start with? I’m very much a beginner with lots of painful injuries. How times a week should I start with? Thank you, I appreciate your input and your videos are amazing ❤

I am thrilled that you are starting with exercise. Any of the gentle level workouts will be appropriate. This one that you chose is a great series since it is gentle movements. Since you have past injuries, I’d recommend to do what you can and avoid any movements that bother a past injury (it’s okay to be a bit uncomfortable when starting new exercises but it shouldn’t be painful). If you look at my playlists, any of the gentle level workouts will be good ones to start with. I also have them on my website if you want to look at them there. www.improvedhealthforseniors.com. I hope that helps!

Can you possibly recommend workouts I can do soon, and then later after cervical spine surgery )possibly going into the L part) I have had one, but it never fully healed and broke down above and below. My Dr (i do listen to him) is the type that says, do what you want but don't lift weights, etc.. (he didn't even know what a kettlebell was- this was in 2016, I think he has since learned, lol). I don't want bones like my mom and sister and have tried so hard. But I guess the autoimmune diseases are breaking me down anyway. I just don't know where to start again, or things I may need to limit for a long time, etc.. Also exercises/ workouts to prepare (I am assuming core strength is always important before and after surgeries. I know it helped with cancer hysterectomy. Other surgeries, before I staretd taking care of myself, lack of strength made it really hard to heal. I have a lot of limited upper body movement at this time, especially shoulders and bicep tendonitis. Even to the point to where I have dislocated and popped back shoulders in bed at night (thats hat PT said I did anyway) I have a high pain tolerance (I avoid pain pills due to kidneys, when I can). Stress is an issue in this I believe, but I think my body would fall apart without it. PT and I joked that the needling he did loosened me up so much that my arms wanted to fall off because there was nothing to hold them on when he released things, lol. Just wondering how to prepare and what is best to do after (not just the therapy things, but not losing muscle, stamina etc, too much- because I have to work to have what little i have. Thankyou and blessings
@ImprovedHealth Жыл бұрын
Hi Jen, first of all, I love that you are searching for exercise programs to get stronger and prepare for surgery. My gentle level exercise programs are created to be gentle, but I'm not a physical therapist so I don't have the specialties and knowledge that a PT would have in regards to the surgery. Maintaining and building strength is important for EVERY one. We all just need to work within our abilities but if we stop completely, it's not going to help us. It's a matter of figuring out what is best for your body (I realize you know this which is why you're asking me). My suggestion is to check in with your PT to determine what exercises to avoid. You could also use this series and use weights that feel right for you. It sounds like you know your limits for what you can lift. I also have seated core strength workouts which would help you to develop more core strength. You could stick with the level 1 core workout and see how that feels and go from there. I'm sorry I can't be more specific with recommendations, Jen.

@@ImprovedHealth Thankyou so much! i do appreciate your help always. I have had several rounds of PT over the last few years every time the diagnosis changed, lol. they all finally realized its a lot of problems (some small, some large- the cervical stuff, small being things going on in the arms), and what helps one may hurt another, so they just focused on strengthening the rotator cuff to ease everything else, this last time. Since some issues aren't gonna go away without surgery, I think they gave up because the rotator cuff work wasn't making all my problems go away.- hey, if the RC is the only thing that can be strong in my body right now (or flexible, whatever) then I'm gonna do my best to make sure its that. My structure (bones/muscles) are about all I have left that I can still be proactive with. I was in a bad place with it yexterday, but feeling na little more positive today. Thankyou so much! (i know it takes time to read my long messages and i appreciate you so much for that!!)

@@jenm473 With injuries, we definitely have to do what we can (which might mean modifying or avoiding certain exercises). It's awesome that you focus on the positives and keep working to get stronger.
