After seeing the pans of RLL & Penske, I'm thinking it's the WTR & Andretti. Talking about how these new pit cathedrals are modular built single structures, RLL & Penske looked like previous pit setups just with a newer & larger encompassing canopy. WTR has Andretti and entire 2nd LMdH car now. I would imagine they upgraded to something brand new, and that's the $$$ winner.

I'm torn on the whole extravagance of it all. Yes, I am a huge fan of IMSA. I've been to a couple races, and loved the atmosphere and racing. The whole thing is a great experience. That said, as technology skyrockets, so do prices for fans. That would be my first concern, although again, I find myself conflicted here too, bc IMSA has to adapt and be relevant to what international racing is doing. And what they are doing is chasing technology like it's a space race. I just hope in the end it promotes great racing, that still is enticing to their fan base. I worry that this tech race will price a family out of getting that incredible experience that is an IMSA event.

@kylemanning193 I was referring to the future of the sport, but a family of five is well into a couple hundred to be at the race weekend with pit passes and lodging and food it begins to tread on prohibitive for most families. That's what I was getting at.

I'm not sure how that would work, everything needs to get taken down for NASCAR and other series. Wouldn't be worth it, especially when it's just 1 race a year for IMSA

While this specific structural setup may not be feasible in an F1 venue, Formula 1 teams have fully equipped technological pit walls, garages, and multi-story motorhomes (during European races) lets just say it’s not build in this specific way.

Daytona has been around for over half a century , why won’t they build permanent pit garages like the rest of the tracks around the world... It’s probably cheaper in the long run...oh and why not add some roofing areas in the grandstands for spectators too.

You need to do some more research into f1 if you don’t think they have these in f1. Not only does f1 have the pit lane garages but they have 2 - 3 story buildings that are setup every weekend.

Me thinks that's why Marshall specifically said "out on the pit wall" for F1. He knows it's on the pit wall, it's in the garage, it's in the engineering "treehouse" behind the garage, and the massive control rooms back at the factories in F1. He's wearing the IMSA hat, got to spin it for them.

Let's just have a 24 hour relay race at the beach, and while we're at it fuck timing it when we can just use the sunrise and our circadian rhythms to determine a winner.

They do? Blame NBC for charging in the states for weather tech but everywhere else in the world it's all aired for free on the IMSA website. Worst case a VPN subscription is less than a peacock subscription anyway.
