It’s not nonsense, if you understood leveraged finance principles. Sam bought 30% equity into Anthony’s business. Therefore he gave his firm money. When he says he’s lost money in his overall portfolio, he is referring to his balance sheet and stock equity investments that have gone down due to reputational risks that often cause securities to depress in value when you are a market maker.

@@adolfoperez777 actually you’re wrong. Anthony and his firm purchased 4% in crypto in Q4 of 2020, it exploded to 12% of total holdings in Sky Bridge in Q1 of 2021. The fund then chased crypto at the top to make up a whopping 24% of NAV as of Q2 of 2022. The despicable risk management of this fund wound up costing investors 27% YTD in losses. I work in wealth management and have exposure to this fund, since 2010. They were a solid fund of funds but since they face planted in 2020 with their 65% allocation to structured credit which blew up, they’ve never been able to recover. The road is purely uphill for them now.

He’s not safe. Bankruptcy judge has right to recall all withdrawals that happened typically within 90 day window of bankruptcy. He pulled his money but he’s probably having it just sit because there’s high likelihood there’d be years long court deliberation and procedures that’s going to cost him and other investors lots of legal fees. Probably won’t be able to take back everything he withdrew.

He chooses his words very carefully. Compare this interview with the London Real. It's almost confessional, in that same new age way that SBF does, where you admit the fact (take ownership) and somehow are relieved of the moral responsibility (or maybe in this world there is no morality). The language chosen deflects personal responsibility. It's like listening to Karine St. Pierre or Justin Trudeau. How is it that he, apparently like everyone else, failed to do his due diligence. He says he saw balance sheets and financials when Ray says there are only asset audits? Either he is trying to get out ahead of this thing, or he was happy to get the cash out while he could (and pump the tokens with cash) knowing the jig was up.

Was just poor due diligence done by Skybridge. They took the firm in a direction they had no business being in. Just stay hedge fund of funds. They built their name there, and now it's sullied along with a ton of other hedge funds and even celebrities. Sometimes walking away from a deal/investment or doing nothing is important. Anthony is 58? He looks like he is 32. But he is a Boomer. There must be security and regulation in the industry if they expect to grow in the future. Right now the business is too risky. As far as due diligence is concerned it must include his associates and not just him. What company is he closely involved with? This is where a good paid financial investigator is appropriate. I hope blockchain is part of the future in order to keep big government and its regulation at bay.
