I ran away from the farm when I was 14 years old. Now at 67 I dream of going back to the farm. I want one so bad, but that dream can’t be done at my age. So I would like to tell you that this is a dream come true just to get to watch others who have not waisted the opportunity to dream and dream big.

I'm so excited to see this series of stories you're doing. Brooke mentioned them the other day! Farm ladies are a special breed. Strong and determined tough as nails kind of spirits! I grew up on a 110 acre dairy farm with 2 broiler chicken houses, back then you could also have your barnyard chickens running free. We had guineas, ducks, goats, pigs and horses along with the Holstein and a couple of Jersey cows! We tilled our garden with a mule. My mother canned basically every vegetable and many fruits we ate. We grew our own poultry, beef and pork also! While my mother didn't do it all herself she sure did a lot that made it possible to have a successful farmstead many a year. One candidate for this series would be Meredith Bernard "This Farm Wife!" She would be a great lady to see you interview even if it had to be a zoom type meeting!

I love watching you and this series is going to be great. I’m April, better known as ‘baby, mama, or nana’ to the people I love most. Just about two years ago I got engaged and we started our planning to have a farm. I am 61 now, we got married on Feb 14th this year and moved to Oregon where my kids and grandkids live. We are living on a farm called ‘Journeys End’ owned by a 68 year old woman, named Renee. Her farm is a rescue for unwanted and hurt animals but she had a horse kick her in the face 10 years ago and got a brain injury that she is still recovering from. She needs help bad and I am going to get a KZbin channel for her to get awareness and help. We are older but we are determined! God is blessing us and we know without Him we wouldn’t have anything. I pray God continues to bless you and shows favor on you ❤

And then you spoke to my heart. My husband of 22 years succumbed to mental illness and now I'm a single mom loosing my home 0.17 acres where I grew 45 varieties of tomatoes this summer plus 12 other veggies and annual flowers all from seed. Im going be starting all over and Im praying I can find a little piece of land and start a homestead on my own. Tracy, this is wonderful! When you were talking about Gene and how he treats you, I knew I had to tell you what is going on with me. I married my high school sweetheart in 1967. We were married almost 13 yrs and had 2 daughters and got a divorce in 1979. We both remarried and both our spouses passed away. Now I am 73 and he is 76. And our family is back together again and he and I are getting remarried Oct 30th. Isn’t it amazing how God works in our lives?

I didn't grow up on a farm but I did grow up around farms my best friend her parents were Homesteaders back then there just considered living on a farm. We had so much fun on that farm road horses played with the animals I spent more time on that farm than I did my own home.

Love this, and watching the video with Brooke and MaryCarl of Cog HIll Farm and their channel Mrs. Cog Hill Farm. I commented on that video but didn't say that from that video I learned that Brooke and I have so much in common. My father passed from Cancer when I was in my 20's and it left me to take care of my mom and my older brother and his son because my mom and dad had been the caretakers for them before he passed. My mom was left with only social security to care for herself and it wasn't enough for anyone else. I realized this is where my life took a turn. I realized watching that video where the pattern of my own depression started to manifest. I realize what the continued unhappy feelings I have now have been coming from and I found it was okay that I didn't cry when my daddy died because I felt relieved he was no longer suffering. I felt guilty for all these years like I was bad for not crying when he passed. Knowing I am not alone made me finally feel freed from that guilt. Thanks for doing that video because without it I might not have ever heard another woman say those words Brooke did and I appreciate her for her honesty in doing that with you. When you shared a video about how God called you to that property you and Gene have I was touched and moved and had hope. I had to move when my landlord was selling the home we had been living in for over 10 years near Fort Myers Beach Florida and it was during these times when the price of everything was going up and up and houses were in great demand and if you didn't have the money to be the highest bidder you weren't getting one. I found one, and though its not mine at least not yet it's a home and it was far away from the insanity of what is happening now back where we came from and I should feel blessed about that and I do but the sadness of what others have been left back there and going through makes that hard to feel. But anyway I love your testimony on this video and getting to know you better. You are inspiring! I hope to one day get to meet you and Gene, and Brooke, Jason, and MaryCarl of Cog Hill Farm in person and give you a good ol' fashion neck hug. PS: I don't think I've learned how to manage all I do I just do it and as time has gone on looking back on it all, I did what I had to do and it got done as it still continues to get done. I can't look at what I can't do I look at it as it has to get done because I feel like no one else is going to do it for me. I love my boots and I love the garden and I don't know hardly anything because my mind doesn't hold onto knowledge like it did when I was younger but I still try and I heard that as long as I try I am a gardner. ❤

I grew up on an Iowa family farm. We had our own beef, pork and chicken, as well as a large vegetable garden, apple and cherry trees. Also had a few milk cows. It was a good place to grow up and I acquired a lot of knowledge about farming. I had gardens in a couple of my first homes, but have never been successful since moving to OK 30+ years ago. I dreamed about it all the time. I had to a chance to be on a chicken farm but I got married at a young age and my husband was against it. He passed away 6 years ago and now I’m to old so I live it through you all. I started out with the Cog Hill . Keep up the good work love you all and God Bless you all

Great life story! I realized after hearing Brooke & Jaclyn that I hadn't finished this first In Her Boots. I started it & somehow didn't finish it. Thank you for sharing. Tracy I watched this twice. I could listen to your stories all day. I got chills when you were talking about your Dad I would have loved to meet him. He would really be proud of you and I love the term social bug. I look forward to this series. I usually find myself in the garden barefoot. (Not really a good idea). When I worked I might end up outside in dress and high heels 👠 now you might see me in my pajamas and barefoot. 😊❤. I think my farmer title would be a piddling farmer.
