In Search of Sunset on the Western Fells - Durston X Mid & MLD Duomid

Great stuff, Dave, as always. Next time you go that way, head up onto Middle Fell from where you park the car - the path branches off right from the path to Greendale - and there's a terrific pitch before you get to the summit (given you're not bagging!) and it looks over Wastwater to the Scafells in a fantastic view as you're sort of right above the lake. It's a good one if you need shelter from a northerly. Although if you'd gone that way this time, we'd have missed your stream crossing - elegance personified! 🤣Nice tribute at the end.

I’ve been up that way before Irene but thank for the shout about the pitch 👍. Yeah, the bloody rock moved when I stood on it 😬. Was nearly very embarrassing 😆

You deserve that blueberry muffin. Lovely video. We were there last week. It's one of our favourite walks. We visited Joss Naylor's Cairn. We've met him a few times. He used to chat to people at the carpark. We met him going up Seatallen once. He just ran up the grass with his dog. Amazing xx

Linda and I did almost the same route last year whilst spending a week in Wasdale last year climbing (bagging!) all the fells around it bar the Scafells which we'd already done. We went across to Joss Naylor's cairn from Buckbarrow on the way down and then down Greendale Gill. Love my Xmid 1P solid, and also have the 2P for when Linda comes out. Great tents. 9:25 There is a path to the summit (quite steep mind) right in front of you as you cross the bog from middle fell. Great fell to camp on, usually very quiet on there. The chap with the fishing rod 😂 (actually a radio broadcast ariel) lives locally and camps on there often and does a morse code radio broadcast

Looked a good doo that mate, never thought of pitching up there. The tents look class, I really like your Allak that you use sometimes, i was going to take the plunge but my eye has been turned. Just bought myself a fjallraven Abisko Dome 2. It comes tomorrow, I literally cant wait to get out in it...where to go though...🤔 Great video, enjoyed it.

Nice vid as always not a place I've been to yet but great views.i was out Friday round bannerdale crags area great weather but quite windy I've got the xmid looked at them for a cpl years and finally got 1 earlier this year only had it out a cpl times but liking it so far it held up really well to some massive gusts during the night didn't measure them but got to have been well over 30mph lots of pegging out points so it really does feel solid the inner isn't very wide but a wide mat fits in nicely plenty of sitting up room and there's plenty length and 2 vestibule.
