It absolutely amazes how Mike's raps in this sound more like their later albums than Hybrid Theory and Meteora. I always thought I was listening to him adapt his style over the years. But in reality, he could do it all along and actually adapted his style for the early albums to fit their tone and make them even stronger. This band, all of its members, deserve to be remembered and celebrated for their body of work. Thank you Linkin Park.

The fact that Mike rewrote the whole verses that were already this good shows the genius and amount of work they put in to perfect every song
@arthurmelo6687
@arthurmelo6687 3 ай бұрын
Actually, their producer was too hard on them. He made them rewrite everything until it was perfect. The "shut up" bridge in One Step Closer is Chester imagining shouting at the producer, because they couldn't take him anymore. Besides that, it was necessary for their success and what they are today.

Chester's death was the first time a celebrity death actually hit me. I grew up listening to him and all of Linkin Park together and the words you all spoke and the sounds you all created together helped me figure out who I was. I wouldn't be who I am today without all of you. I can't go into specifics on things but I'm so blessed every day to hear your music and it really has effected my life and helped me through so much. I love all of you and I hope you continue making more music in Chester's memory.

I remember that I was at the gym, looking at facebook, and going down at the feed I saw a Chester photo (weird because it almost never happened) and I went up fast but accidentally I refreshed the feed, so I looked for Chester Bennington on Facebook and there was like 4-5 news saying "Chester Bennington death/died" and I was like no, no, no, and I sit down on a machine and looking for more news hopping to read a massive fake news or something but then Big Newspapers at my country reported it so I can only accepted it and continue with my exercise, while listening my favorite LP songs, and I was like: So, this is how it feels when your favorite artists is gone and you have been saving money for the concert he would have been doing the next year at your country

It’s starts with One And multiplies til you can taste the sun and burnt by the sky you try to take it from but if it falls there’s no place to run Crumbling down It’s so unreal They’re dealing you in to determine your end And sending you back again to places you’ve been And bending your will til it breaks you within And still they Fill their eyes To the twilight through the skylight and the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness as I write this on a pad to the Way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming as it’s seeming that you’ve played you part Like your heartless take apart this in the darkness but I know I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn’t even matter I had to fall To lose it all But in the end It doesn’t even matter I look down the line and what’s there is not what ought to be Held back by the battles they fought for me Calling me to be part of their property And now I see that I Get no chance.. I get no break, fakes and snakes quickly lead to mistakes And as the tight rope within Slowly starts to thin I can only hope that they Close their eyes.. To the twilight through the skylight and the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness as I write this on a pad to the Way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming as it’s seeming that you’ve played you part Like your heartless take apart this in the darkness but I know I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn’t even matter I had to fall To lose it all But in the end It doesn’t even matter I put my trust in you Pushed as far as I could go For all this, there’s only one thing you should know (x3) I’ve tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn’t even matter I had to fall To lose it all But in the end It doesn’t even matter

This song has a special place in my heart. Me and my friends and my brother went to our first Linkin Park concert back in 2013, in Amsterdam. The last song they played was In The End. While the band had already left the stage and people were leaving the stadium to go back home, our circle of friends, my brother and about 10-15 other people kept singing the chorus with full hearth and repeating it until everyone left and the cleanup crew came in to wipe the floors. It was such a magical moment. And i'm so happy to have seen LP live, and to have seen Chester live too. Never forget.

*Lyrics* [Intro] It starts with one... [Verse 1] One, then multiplies 'til you can taste the sun And burned by the sky you try to take it from But if it falls, there's no place to run Crumbling down, it's so unreal They're dealing you in to determine your end And sending you back again, to places you've been And bending your will 'til it breaks you, within And still, they fill their eyes With the twilight through the skylight And the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness As I write this on a pad with the way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming As it's seeming that you've played your part Like you're heartless, take apart this In the darkness, but I know that I've tried so hard [Chorus] I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter [Verse 2] I've looked down the line And what's there is not what ought to be Held back by the battles they fought for me Calling me to be part of their property And now, I see that I get no chance I get no break Fakes and snakes quickly lead to mistakes And as the tightrope within slowly starts to thin I can only hope that they close their eyes To the twilight through the skylight And the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness As I write this on a pad to the way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming As it's seeming that you've played your part Like you're heartless, take apart this In the darkness, but I know that I tried so hard [Chorus] I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter [Bridge] I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know [Chorus] I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter

Who would've known what the world would become; where you don't even require physical media, you can just stream it. Incredible that in practically 2022, I'm listening to a song that was only available to some of us that were part of The LPU. I felt like such a big deal whenever someone asked me why this song sounded different than the regular In The End track Lol. Those days of going to the Public Library just to use the computers that still hadn't transitioned from dial-up to DSL internet speeds just to interact with other LP fans, rocking my RCA portable CD-Player 24/7 thinking it was the greatest thing ever that you could play a CD (Hybrid Theory) on-the-go, looking for Anime Music Videos on-line since 80% of them used Linkin Park music, my friends debating on whether Linkin Park war rock/rap/emo Lol. Man I miss those days, and I'll miss Chester forever too.

Lyrics: It starts with one... One, then multiplies 'til you can taste the sun And burned by the sky you try to take it from But if it falls, there's no place to run Crumbling down, it's so unreal They're dealing you in to determine your end And sending you back again, to places you've been And bending your will 'til it breaks you, within And still, they fill their eyes With the twilight through the skylight And the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness As I write this on a pad with the way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming As it's seeming that you've played your part Like you're heartless, take apart this In the darkness, but I know that I've tried so hard I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter I've looked down the line And what's there is not what ought to be Held back by the battles they fought for me Calling me to be part of their property And now, I see that I get no chance I get no break Fakes and snakes quickly lead to mistakes And as the tightrope within slowly starts to thin I can only hope that they close their eyes To the twilight through the skylight And the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness of your likeness As I write this on a pad to the way I feel Hear the screaming in my dreaming As it's seeming that you've played your part Like you're heartless, take apart this In the darkness, but I know that I tried so hard I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I've put my trust in you, pushed as far as I can go For all this, there's only one thing you should know I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter I had to fall to lose it all But in the end, it doesn't even matter

I had this version of the song when I was in 5th grade, thats more than a decade ago. And back then this was the only version of this song that I knew of. Loved it then, now I appreciate shinoda's rapping skills on this song even more.
