That bacon looks great, Easy rapid de-frost especially vac-packed like that is to drop it in the sink and cover it with cold water. It will defrost in about half the time against using the ambient room temperature/Fridge.

Hi Gareth, I am over here in Ireland drooling, and Jealous. But you have shown me the Light, I have been buying cheap Bacon that is like tissue paper from my local Supermarket But there is a local PORK Butcher that processes his own Pigs. I often look in the Window at the Thick Cut Bacon lying un packaged on the marble counter top but never get it because of the Price. Well tomorrow morning ill be in there getting Bacon, Sausage. A nice gift. A tasty gift. I'm with you airfrying the rind to make crackling and I freeze all of the bacon I buy. Best left to fully defrost in the fridge an hour or two or overnight. Before cooking, I recommend rinsing the defrosted bacon under cool water to wash away any remaining ice crystals. Pat dry on paper towels. Cheers Gareth 👍🤤😀

There's farm shops all over the place. Well worth finding one. I get all my meat and fish from the butcher or the farm shop now. I used to think it was expensive, the prices in the super markets have equalised that now. The butchers and farm shop frequently have special offers on as wel. The quality of the produce is in a different league in comparison. Not a single bit gets left on the plate or thrown in the bin. Well worth it.
