Hi, you should always use your heels first and then toes. Also, keep your knees loose and not locked to minimise the shock on knees.

I almost destroyed my knees while descending during my first Sandakphu trek. On my 2nd trek I didn't do the mistake. I took the zig zag way while descending.

Maybe your core is not strong enough and complete load goes to your back , try to do some core exercises. It will definitely help you.

Hello Sakina, To avoid blisters, choosing the right shoe size and getting comfortable with them before you go on a trek is important.
