1. I agree with Neeraja on two counts: It is not just synchronising of elections but also all other reforms that need to be considered. Second, people will lose the opportunity to question their representatives. I think one Lok sabha election slot and another vidhan sabha election slot can be planned.

What about them? Whenever they had regional leaders who truly worked for the welfare of the people and the common man, they were able to raise to stupendous heights.. (Kashi Ram, Jagjeevan Ram, Ramakrishna Hegde, Balasaaheb Thackrey, Chandrababu Naidu, Biju Patnaik and so on). If you had really worked for your regional people, why be afraid? In regional elections no national leader makes a difference. It is when you know that you have not done enough for your local population that you are afraid. In any case if you are really strong regionally don't you want to rule for the full duration of 5 years instead of being worried of having to run another election? If anything, you should be supporting ONOE.. It is very easy to get influenced by mass hysteria.

Stop..!!! The host is laughing at the fact that cabinet has to go into election mode, everytime there is an election. Why is that funny? DR. M was a TOTALLY non-existent PM..he was not even working when he was supposed to be working. It was being run from 10 Janpath. While I respect Neerja Chowdhary a lot (I have heard her speak on many occasions), on this one she is wrong. Regarding cabinet not having to run around electioneering, nothing, could very farther from the truth. You do want the people that have implemented the work of the government to be the face of the party. That is the one time they get to talk about the work they have done and people should know. Then there is the state machinery that goes into action and paralyzes govt Capex and infrastructure projects.
