I know ppl who worked in security for decades, and dont even need to touch ppl to get arrests. And these are huge guys too. Not to mention, most employers these days have a hands off policy

What the family needs to do is sue everyone involved. If they can not afford a lawyer, they can look up Access pro bono in BC to get an lawyer for assistance. It is free. What happened to this young lady is not acceptable. The security guards had no right to man handle her like that. The reason why she wasn't able to breath is due to the guards being trained to put their knees on the targeted person. Any physician will tell you that action can cause severe injury. Review of security training and procedures for detention of minors and those with developmental disabilities needs a SERIOUS review. There's several maneuvers here that do not seem correct to me, and I've seen Paladin security do it properly before. I speculate there are different 'levels' of training and probably a high turnover of employees and lack of give a toss from management.

I hope the family gets justice bc this is disgusting treatment of a child. She was unarmed and theyre not supposed to tackle ppl even if they think they stole. The security can trespass her, ban her from the store and have police deal with it immediately as soon as she comes back again.
