Perkedel. Smash fried potatoes + egg + meat/corned meat (optional) + thinly sliced celery + minced garlic & shallot + white pepper + salt. Round the mixture, coat with white egg (optional), fried them. Do not add flour. It won't taste that good. Just use egg to firm the mixture while friying

Be careful though: Many stalls in Singapore label themselves Nasi Padang such as in food courts, but what they are selling is rice with variety of dishes that have nothing to do with Nasi Padang, and no spicy sambal either.

The original Padang rice is in West Sumatra in the city of Padang ... It tastes 3 times as good as that in other places .... You should try it if you visit Indonesia ..

It is 3 years late but you had Stingray Asam Pedas and Ayam Masak Merah. Both are NOT Nasi Padang dishes of the Minang people in West Sumatra. These two are Malay dishes of Malaysia, Singapore and the Riau islands.

Go to bukit merah blk 100, there is a very well known nasi padang stall istemewa. Havent tried this lengkok bahru stall , but the balado doesnt look authentic..seems too much gulai in it.

Hi, if u visit Jakarta sometime, I'll take you to THE BEST Nasi Padang Restaurant: PAGI SORE. It's on another level! The chicken curry sauce is the best and they also have paru goreng, and what u called begedil (actually it's perkedel ✌) and there's wet beef jerky style with sambal balado. Super yummy! There's also another one called GARUDA, also on another level but it's insanely pricy. Best bang for the buck definitely PAGI SORE 👈👍🏼
