We ultrasonically clean/rebuild the Huayi Carburetor on MTD, Troy Bilt Snow Blower after we check it out and diagnose it being a carburetor issue or issue with bad fuel.
This Troy Bilt Storm 2420 model 31AS6KN2B23 snowblower with MTD Powermore 270-XU Engine which is the newest design I have seen
This is the same engine model as the Storm 2425 ( 31BS6KM2B66 ) and Storm 2600 ( 31AS6KM3B23 )
We go through the full diagnostic process and give other information if this is not the case on your blower.
If the carburetor on your unit is completely gummed up or any worse than the one in the video you will want to replace it completely
We normally see the symptoms of something like this being surging, won't run off choke, won't start or hard to start
The carburetor part number is 651P08475
We check out a Troy bilt Storm 2420 snowblower. We find that the carburetor is all gummed up and needs cleaned and put back together to get working again. The full process is shown with tips tricks and tools.

And then he shows you the tricks in the tools he uses. He's extremely efficient. And he shows you all the pit falls. My neighbor brought one of those over a few hours before this past Saturday's snow storm. The float bowl was black with varnish and rust, I still smell like turpentine! Drain them at the end of the season!!!

I came across something interesting last year that you and your viewers might be interested in. one Troy-Bilt and one mtd I did last year had a brown substance in the float that looks like coffee. The emulsion tube and jet were also plugged up with this substance. It was not from stale gas or varnish. Both units were relatively new. The culprit turned out to be the fuel line the manufacturer used. It almost seemed to be plastic instead of rubber ??? Has anyone else come across this . The material of the fuel line seems to disintegrate.

Great video! I have a 2410 that I bought used last year, about 10 years old. I’ve spent the last year fixing all the stupid crap Lowe’s and the factory did when they first assembled it. Control cable pulleys that can’t turn, cables misadjusted, nothing greased anywhere, etc. I’d love to see you do a gearbox rebuild on one of these 24” MTD blowers (if they’re worth rebuilding). Getting ready for 6” tonight in KC.

Great detailed information. I’ve been using the purple type of simple green with great luck. Your unit didn’t have the problem, but my primer line split at the end. Maybe throw a inspection reminder while it’s torn apart. Just a suggestion.
