today, we are working on the windows where employees of the brown shoe company building would clock in, and get their pay checks. This is the first step in converting the very first space in the building.

if you mark the plexi on the edge the lead will show up better and a table saw is the best way for cutting it before you take the protective film off. great work guys. love your channel.

Awesome update! Glad you were able to get those windows functioning pretty good. If you propped the front door open on a warm summer day, they can get a little more of a Cross breeze in that room.

Hey Chris, Bob - great to see renovation progress after all of the clearing and grunt work. It's gonna be great. Good luck in your plans, and always remember to stay safe, my friends.

That glass cutting thing looks really dangerous. Reminds me when my dad taught me to strip paint off wood using broken glass. He taught me how to do it, scarp away from your body, lots of safety instructions. I followed his advice to the letter until the last scrap where I rushed it and then nearly cut my thumb off. Went to A&E, few stitches etc. I didn’t tell Dad for weeks. Still have pain in my thumb 35 years later. 😢 love Bob sorting the window out and finding the original paint lines. You should keep it two tone in paint to retell the story.😂

The window was fitting fine it just needs some bar soap rubbed on it for lubracation . Soap works great at keeping it free of sticking. When spraying the frosting don’t stop moving as you are spraying, makes it look messy. Good luck 👍🙏

Talk with your local/county business development folks they can tell you what type of space has the most need. You are off the beaten path for town square accessibility so probably a tradesman is the type of client I would be seeking or something with the University. Colleges are always looking for extra storage space. Try a piece of that window plastic with the orbital sander. Will scuff it up, make semi opaque and give your spray something to cling to. I would only do the interior. Outside will wash off with rain and snow.

to help make those windows open real easy . take a candle or some form of wax, coat the sides of the windows and frame with the wax, rubbing it in good ... old time trick Another hint.. to frost plexi you can sand the face with a coarser (80 grit) sandpaper, for frosted glass.... take the panes in to a sandblasting place.. then you can have frosted on hand

you can sand the plexi to make it foggy and save money on spray paint.

The glass cutter would be easier to use if you hang it on the wall. Get a bar of soap and run it on the window rails. Lol, I guess I should watch the whole video before I comment. Lol!

There’s a crazy technique that people use to frost windows for cheap.. they use 4 parts Elmers glue one part water and roll it on like paint. It starts off clear but ends up frosted and opaque once dry! It’s by far the cheapest method to frost windows.. but the condensation aspect Chris showed might make it not work. (I’m not sure since I haven’t personally tried it and even if I did we don’t ever have condensation because of a lack of humidity where I live) might be a money saving hack on windows that don’t have condensation issues in the building… there’s tutorials online to check out! Place is looking great Bob and Chris!

I have a miter saw that is not square. Its just a couple of degrees, but its enough to notice. I check it with a framing square for 90 and 45 degrees.

Chris take one of the panels of plexiglass and some fine sandpaper and sand both sides of the plexiglass.. See how that works for you.. it would be a lot cheaper than the spray on stuff...

You can rub a little candle wax or vaseline on the tracks of the glass to have them slide up and down easier. :)

Wax those wooden windows before you install them and they will slide so much easier. and also if the glazing putty is oil based, rub a little oil on the putty knife to make a nice slick finish.

Routers are only supposed to go in one direction... look it up for safety. It is ok to go both directions for small amounts, but long runs... not a good idea.

putty is old school bud, you can use what ever you want, I would use silicone or caulk to do the window panes. Easier and faster!
