Not many can play like him, with all the rock blues style, which is so common within guitar players, this man has shaped a sound and his own niche without even trying, because he is original and has heart, no one plays the same in my eyes; the timing, the attack, the general color of the sound - he is truly unique.

Yudi Day definitely. The guy is like a magician. Whilst so many people focus on his left hand it’s his right hand that produces the real magic. And once you’re focused on what his right hand is doing he will produce some magic with his left. By his own admission (in another interview that I’ve seen) he comes up with some very “odd” time signatures when he writes.

All his notes r so fckin clear. Idk why people keep saying hes sloppy
@omithehomi85683 жыл бұрын
Yeah, people say he’s sloppy mostly because he has a negative edge, or a late pickoff on plucks. Imagine a beginner playing seven nation army, the notes are a tad late. But I love him, in almost all his playing it’s perfect. People can’t tell style and perfect “imperfections” apart
@TheRustedShackleford3 жыл бұрын
Live, he is a relatively "sloppy" player. I prefer the term "loose" but, they pretty much mean the same thing. That doesn't mean it's not amazing, it's just a part of his style. I think that comes with the territory of mostly being a feel player. He doesn't plan out every note he plays. A lot of them just kind of happen in the moment, if that makes sense.
@markrogers73043 жыл бұрын
He's kind of in the same play style group as page,perry,ace, and stones. He's sloppy/loose player but that's what made those raw tracks afd so great, same as with the others I mentioned. Personally I prefer the iving, breathing style of a sloppy player over a very technical player.
@melodica54073 жыл бұрын
He used to be sloppy live, but now he plays sober and clean. And no. Loose isn't sloppy. Jimmy page is sloppy, slash is loose.

he had a 1 of a kind weird amplifier he "borrowed" from marshall and never gave back, and they never stopped calling him and asking for it back, *for years.* anywho, late 90s / early 2000s he got a new guitar tech, who took marshall's call and gave the amp back without saying anything to slash until after the fact. he has asked many times for it back, marshall ignored him lol. read that in his autobiography, thats probably what it is.

If this video were exclusive evidence, I may be inclined to agree. However, in this video, I think he's just messing around, kind of like us when we are on the couch or something. I think here, he is really just trying to dial in tones and things like that. Nonetheless, live, he rarely plays the same solo more than once, leading me to believe he is actually pretty good at improvising.
