I spent a long time on the lowest of low budgets, and it taught me that a couple of really well-seasoned side dishes are so much better than several bland dishes - and the amazing smell in your kitchen created by baking your own bread/biscuits/rolls etc makes up for a LOT! Baking some biscuits or soda bread is easy and cheap since you don't even need yeast, but makes everything taste so much better and your house will smell incredible. Taking the time to make things with love and care makes food special, not the money you spend on it. Getting to spend the holidays with your loved ones in a warm, safe home is a blessing not everyone gets to have, and gratitude is the best seasoning of all. May you have a BLESSED Thanksgiving and holiday season, Camirra!

I read the entire description and I LOVE how you are trying to show ppl how to create a wonderful Thanksgiving meal on a budget. Not just Thanksgiving though. The tips you give about shopping at discount stores, buying store brands, and utilizing food banks/pantires are golden! I live by those three things. I used to only shop at walmart when I didnt have a vehicle but once I got back on the road I was able to start driving around to different stores, locally owned stores with cheaper prices. Food banks are how I keep my pantry stocked. I do pray my financial situation improves and I can shop more freely one day but im honestly so grateful to know how to shop and create on a very tight budget. Thanks for normalizing living on a budget in a time where its looked down on.

im so glad you enjoyed the video, nice to know ppl actually take time to read the description! yes thes are tough ties for many ppl and food pantries, churches, and other organizations can be a big help. many ppl think Walmart is the cheapest, but not anymore! One of the best prices on a protein for the entire year is turkeys during the lead up to Thanksgiving. Ill purchase at least a dozen birds JUST for the rest of the year. Keep them frozen( best using a chest freezer) then thaw one out each month. I've picked up Turkey as low as .65 cents lb. But only Thanksgiving. The rest of the year never that cheap. Good luck everyone. 🦃
@CamirrasKitchenАй бұрын
right now i see turkey for .39 lb. thats pretty early for a price that low! i buy those and can the meat in my pressure canner. i wish i had space in my freezer for those turkeys. stores make them so cheap after thanksgiving
@victorbenner539Ай бұрын
@CamirrasKitchen wow .39 cents. A cheasy freezer is a "buy once, cry once" deal. And it doesn't have to be a giant freezer. However speaking from experience a dozen turkeys do require a large freezer.

I’m not American but my region of the South Pacific actually celebrates Thanksgiving as a remnant from the GIs stationed here during WWII. We celebrate by enjoying the nature’s bounty of my home, without anything imported, processed or any gross artificial ingredients. That means Turkey+sweet potato+greens but also fresh seafood, tropical fruits, native herbs and game meat like deer and boar 🐗 . God bless America!! 🇺🇸❤️💗🇵🇬🇳🇫🇸🇧 I wish to say on thanksgiving that I am thankful most for God giving me the opportunity this year to spend lots of time with the people I love, and secondly for the (much less important) financial success that my business investments have received this year. I am truly blessed. Jesus is King! ✝️☦️

@CamirrasKitchenАй бұрын
i hate doing that! the only thing i like to make that day of is the turkey and mac and cheese tbh. i make food 3 days before depending on what it is. in this video the collard greens, corn pudding, cabbage, sweet potato pudding/ casserole, and green beans can all be made 2-3 days in advance. all desserts are made the night before for me. but pound cakes and pies ( esp sweet potato) can be made 5 days in advance. but my family is greedy and will start eating it so i dont even do that. i do mine the night before. you can put together the mac and cornbread dressing un cooked. then cook the day of thanksgiving. i do candied yams 1-2 days before thanksgiving.
