CHANDRA BHUSHAN I'm actually glad Hollywood seems to be embracing darker,grittier, and more adult marketed superhero movies. Video games have been ahead of that for awhile, especially with the Arkham franchise. Before, they were afraid to do one right and produce a R-rated superhero movie so they weren't willing to fund a project enough to give it a chance due to projected bad ticket sales due to an R-rating, thats why we've gotten some dumbed down bloodless movies that would have and could've been spectacular if they weren't so concerned with staying within PG-13 MPAA censors guidelines. I think Deadpool really paved the way for things to come, only time will tell but at least they're not afraid to go for it now without being shackled to a kid friendly rating. Logan is a good example of following in deadpools footsteps, but without Ryan Reynolds dedication to the character and passion about that project, we'd still likely be 5-10yrs away from a good gritty superhero movie.

Great review. Though I completely disagree with her take on Injustice's story. Injustice: God's Among Us, especially the comic series, is one of the best DC comics storylines in recent years. It's far better than it has any right to be, considering it's for a fighting video game. That being said, Injustice is a very dark story with lots of death and destruction, especially if you've read the comics. If she didn't like the first story, it's understandable that she wouldn't like the 2nd. That being said, great all around review.

I enjoyed the story as well, epically moments between superman and batman were really good especially when they reminisced about the old days. They did a good job making me not only love playing them but seeing them as well. But by far my favorite part was when captain cold confronted the flash, I won't spoil but shit got real.

What? That doesn't even make sense. A review is literally one person's opinion of a game. If the reviewer didn't like the darker take on the characters, of course they're going to give it a lower score -- because they didn't like it as much. actiually there pretty much is a formula for game scores [Gameplay Mechanics,Story(and i don't mean its too dark for me i mean is it a good exciting story that actually makes sense or is it original how is the acting does it have any good plot twists is it overused etc...), Encounter Design,Level Design,Graphics,Content,Fun Factor, etc...] sometimes the story is so good it can makeup for the gameplay and vise versa and technically this is "IGN" review of the game so yes pretty much it is THE COMPANY they should have an open mind when reviewing games if your gonna post it as ign's review. now for the naomi kyle didint write the review i didn't exactly watch the entire video so that was my bad i did not know it wasn't hers but that doesn't change the point. that this was a biased review and not an overall review. now if this was a pg13 game yea id have to agree its a bit too dark but it isn't so this review makes absolute no sense, its like watching saw and saying its too gory well what did you expect. my point is as long as its gonna be written ign gave it a 9.0 cause its too dark everyone is gonna read that as a company rating a game and being biased about it. end of story.

This is also the reason that IGN and other companies that post reviews like to make it clear that the review is the opinion of the one person who wrote the review and no one else. Great, another person who wants Injustice to become a flowery, sunshine and everyone gets along, kind of Justice League story. She/He has provided ZERO assessment for the story mode, aspects such as exceptional facial animation, voice acting, cut scene actions e.t.c She is criticising the story for WHAT SHE WANTS, not for WHAT IT IS. She is saying the story should shove LIGHT and HOPE DOWN YOUR THROAT, instead it advocates killing and not dispatching villains in the past. She isn't arguing WHY IT"S WRONG, she is simply saying IT SHOULDN'T DISCUSS IT AT ALL. We have death penalty IN REAL LIFE, Injustice tries to integrate real life outcomes and social structure, in a world with superheroes, who have more or less taken the law into their own hands or become a privatised military force. And Joker showed them how their flowery outlook in 'handling' villains is pure limelight, vanity. In real life Joker WOULD BE DEAD or LOCKED AWAY in some unheard of place (like in The Dark Knight franchise), instead of being allowed to escape jail every Tuesday. No one to root for? How about Batman who is literally breaking his bat-back to save the world, while maintaining his ethics? Flash and Hal, who are trying to redeem themselves? Super Girl, one of the most badass female superheroes, thanks to Injustice, who stands up for justice and overcomes the brain washing done to her by WW, BA and Superman? How about Green Arrow and Black Canary, who are just awesome as a duo and are also fighting to stop the bad guys? No clearly, there is no one to root for. /s Also shes pissed of at the joker? He is in the story for like 2 minutes, WTF!!! He's also a HALLUCINATION! Imagine if they had a fire-breathing, diamond wings, with tentacles and can mover faster than light, HALLUCINATION Joker, this reviewer would've lost his mind. I've been reading Dc, and Marvel most of my life. If you want to be truthful, Marvel is the darker of the two. Only the younger folks think the opposite. The reason for that is the movies. I've only seen a little of the story mode but it's as good as I've seen in video games. The little things like batman dropping the kryptonite grenade to weaken superman so that the fight could make sense was a well thought out touch. It looks really good

I love the Joker n' all it's just that the problem is how they brought him back into the game. In the Story Mode he only appeared once in one battle as Harley Quinn's hallucination/fear by Scarecrow. I like how he plays but that really is a bothersome.

Seems like all the young people today want their stories to be full of happy rainbow unicorn farts. If everything was hunky dory heroes wouldn't be fighting each other. "The story is too dark, i dont like it." Shouldnt a reviewer stick to objective pros and cons instead of opinions like that? She might not like the dark tone of DC, but i sure as hell do. The dark tone is actually why i prefer DC over the competition. If she could actually give me a legit reason to why the darkness is bad for the story then its probably worth mentioning. In an alternate universe where Superman goes evil i cant see how anyone could laugh, crack jokes, and be light-hearted. The dark and serious tone is needed if you ask me.

A review is inherently subjective, not objective. Nothing about a video game is objective. Any given review you read is just that person's opinion of the game. If someone doesn't like darker stories, and wants their superheroes to all get along, they aren't going to like the story of this game as much and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them mentioning that. As a point of clarification, Naomi didn't review the game. She's reading a script based on the written review, which was done by someone else. In terms of darkness, DC is not unilaterally dark. They have plenty of campy stuff too, so preferring DC because of a darker tone is kind of weird, but whatever.

Kendall Stilgenbauer i agree with you to an extent, reviews are somewhat subjective. However, this review was pretty rock solid, she stuck to objective pros like the faster pace, the combo variations, the customization, servers and etc. you cant tell me those things are subjective when theyre fact. So it would make sense that if there were any cons they would also be objective things that make the game worse. But the only con was such a subjective topic that you shouldnt take points away, again because people like me would actually like a dark story. Real criticisms could be things like an incoherent plot, bad voice work, muddy graphics and other things like that. Not saying Injustice 2 has those things btw. And yes both DC and Marvel have their dark and campy stuff, but for the most part DC has a darker appeal and it feels more realistic and mature in my opinion. In the past decade, just looking at DCs video games and movies you can immediately tell the difference from DCs gritty tone vs Marvels light-hearted tone. Not picking one or the other, i like Marvel too, but not everything is fun and games and DC portrays that more than Marvel.

Reviews are not "somewhat" but are purely subjective. Media like video games are based on an emotional experience, so not everyone is going to have the same feelings towards a game. Objectivity exists only in pointing out the content in the game, but weather that content adds anything positive or negative or is done efficiently or not falls into the realms of subjectivity.

IGN, its called 'injustice'.... what kind of story did you expect. injustice 2 has a great story based of of fractured heroes and villains with their own agenda. Each trying to be the master of the rest with loads of characters to root for. you say that this joker is the worst with no reason at all. this leads your audience to believe that its personal opinion and not factual, unlike what an informational review should be. You gave a gave a good score but I would say it deserves higher, because you have failed to list any cons. This leads me to believe that this is a perfect Game. Honestly IGN why bother.

one of the coolest features (character customization) ended up being really annoying after I beat the story. I had so much epic gear that required my character to be level 20; however, it takes you days if not weeks to fully get a character to their highest level. I think I would have prefer the 3 character variation like MKX or at least a fun mode to play around with high level equipment locally just to see how it can change up my character and play style.

My biggest gripe with the game is the DLC. It feels like they made a full game with all the characters, and then removed a few so they could make extra money. I mean, come on, DLC at launch? That should just be in the game. The only other thing is the graphics. Maybe it's because we're in uncanny valley or something, but the faces and some textures just feel really off, even during cut scenes. Still enjoyed the gameplay mechanics and story though.

Can't speak for others, but i myself don't care about the rating. I care about the content within the review, not some numerical value. In which case, this has been a failure of a review. Because his evaluation of the game's story, a fundamental core of this game, IS ABSOLUTELY HOGWASH. He doesn't say why the current story is bad/flawed and is more disappointed that his idea of the story wasn't implemented in this game. He might as well claim, Shawshank redemption or Schindler's list is crap, cause there is no car racing. Yes, they provided a poor, heavily flawed subjective, instead of objective, opinion-based review for the story. Which is not warranted in this professional industry, unless IGN doesn't want anyone to take their reviews seriously and treat it as mere opinion, NOT AN EVALUATION OF A PRODUCT. Can't speak for others, but if the game has natural flaws, i expect IGN to follow it up, but their evaluation and review of the story of was exceptionally flawed, aside from his evaluation of the Joker, the reviewer only stated what he wanted for the story, not what is wrong with the story. Dark and gritty is just throwing out buzzwords, for the lack of proper evaluation. Can't say anything about Prey either. Dunno anything about the game or the review. However I will say IGN has a history of flawed reviews, that questions their commitment to be taken seriously, one such case was ME2 review, where they claimed it was too referential. So I guess they wanted a sequel of a game, that is a direct continuation of its prequel, to not discuss anything about the first game.

Hey guys before you start trolling on Naomi on the review, look at the beginning caption. Reviewed by Darry Narrated (read by) Naomi. Also, the review (Darry) mentioned characters that "represent " light and Hope, not acting that way. As a opposed the story being about betrayal and loses which suites it to intensify the struggle. I thought (not surprised) it was too batman oriented than what should have been a redemption story for Superman. I too had a hard time seeing the heroes acting cold and heartless. But, I guarantee that The Reverse Flash will alter this story with Barry. I can smell it plus in the comics Batman reaches out to Barry about if it's possible he can alter the past.

Thats the point and you cannot compare that to the DCEU movies which are supposed to be the normal versions of the characters, not an alternate version like in Injustice.
