Awesome videos! I subscribed to your channel and just ordered my first EUC. I chose this model to learn on. If I get good enough maybe in the future I can get a Vetran or other high -end model but I'm not ready yet to go at those speeds. I live in Los Angeles, CA where there are so many great places to ride like at the beach.

My v8s came in today. Wheeled around inside for an hour or so to get the hang if things. I’ve never put my feet on an euc before but grew up wake boarding , skateboarding , and snowboarding the Colorado mountains. Took it outside and I was cruising down the sidewalk listening to music like I’ve been on it for months. Love the wheel. 🛞 great purchase. Best money I’ve spent !!! If you’re on the fence about it. Swipe and forget. Cuz you won’t be upset if it’s your first wheel. 🛞. I’d imagine vets want more speed. But man. I freaking Louise this thing. Also. They don’t tell you. Your legs will hurt. Im guessing it’s like snowboarding. I will develop muscles and I won’t be soar or an anything in no time. I’m only 125-130 pounds. And the wheel just gos man very cool!!!

I weight around 90kg with my gear and I commute daily 10 kilometers to school with a V8F. I have been riding it every day for a year even under heavy rain. Just don't try to ride it when it is freezing in the morning (I fell 2 times this winter because of black ice). I get around 20 kilometers of range with 25 km/h average speed on flat roads. I wish I had more range. The V8s would have been perfect. The V8f is very nimble and zippy. I love it and won't sell it even if I get a bigger wheel in the future. For safe city riding, it is the best.

Thank You! I've had my V8F for two years and really like it. I've been singing the praises of its commuter abilities, very seamless transitions to and from pedestrian. I am a 6'1", 260lb rider and have no issues with this wheel. I'm not a performance rider, ride only on hard surfaces, and my part of the world is pretty flat but it has never even offered to let me down. Lots of comments try to put this wheel in the beginner category and while that is one of its strengths, IMHO, it is more/better than just a wheel to learn on for a few weeks and move on to a larger wheel. It is a very practical, dependable wheel for non performance riding.

Its impressive you stuck with it that long. Im about 180 and its not hard to over lean a V8F just taking off from a normal stop/acceleration. I had to upgrade after a couple months because I kept over leaning it. It almost felt so weak that it was dangerous. Need to cross a road, accidentally lean a little too hard, PLEASE GET OFF, as it dumps you off the back in the middle of traffic. Now I have a V12 and a Nikola AR+

@@CrunchyTire Well, I'm riding the wheel that I have, not the wheel that I wish it was. It has limitations and I choose to ride within those limitations. But those limitations bring some advantages in practicality that are a benefit to me as a rider.

It's a performance wheel. If you're coming from a tiny 400watt Airwheel x3 like me. Even the Airwheel is functional. Though not fast.

@@CrunchyTire I'm thinking of buying a used V8S to replace my V14D (I also have a V12HT), and I'm hoping I can't overpower the V8S as easily as the V14D. But your comment doesn't leave me hopeful in a 1000W wheel now as a 230 lbs rider. 😅 But maybe if I'm being careful as OP above I'll be fine. 🤞

I first learned on a V8 that was my brother's. He took it back when I got my own wheel, the Kingsong 18XL. But I always missed the lightness of the V8 especially when I was just doing short errands or trying to get to class. So when I saw someone selling a used V8F that only had 200km on it for $700 CAD, I pounced. I really like the wheel. You can't push it like you said, but it's really perfect for short commutes or even just tossing in your trunk or the bus.

I got my GF a V8s, she is 120ish Lbs, she totally loves it. Great range and the size is very practical for a smaller rider. She can get 32+ miles riding at 16-20mph. She can easily lift it and move it around without issue. Would be a great last mile commuter as well. If it were a few hundred less, it would be the tops.

V8F and V8S tires are 16 x 2.125. The original V8 had the thinner 16 x 1.9 tire. I'm a casual rider (I don't ride on streets), weigh about 86kg, so I mostly ride at 20 to 25 kph to have a bit more safety margin on my V8F.

I'm looking to get either a V8F($600US) OR a Ninebot Z10 ($1100US). I weigh 235LBS(106kg), and would probably be using it mostly recreationally, so comfort is less important. I would like to be able to safely go atleast 18 miles/hour(29km/h) which is pretty close to the maximum speed of 21mph(35km/h) I dont intend to purchase a secondary powered unicycle later, and the $1100 is stretching the top end of my budget, and I dont really intend to get much faster than 20mph(32km/h) anyways even if the machine can handle it. So V8F or Z10 at basically twice the price? Thanks

Good to see a review of a practical wheel, when most are focused on the newest, biggest, fasted, most extreme wheels. That sometimes burst into flames and badly disappoint. Believe this real life utility, mid range space, while not flashy, is an important sector to focus on. That said, I don't know the price difference, but as a relatively compact (though heavier) wheel, the V12 seems to overlap this niche of practical commuter wheel on one side, while punching above its weight in speed and range with agility on the other. So personally, I would (and did) just go for the V12. It has a lot more all around functional latitude and will be less prone to being outgrown.

Love the video, bought one at a good price. I’ve been on learning, my main thing so far has been shoes. Get some high tops. I’m a running shoe guy, it’ll make you pay for that. It has absolutely bit my ankles 3 times where I bought new shoes because it sucked so bad. I will buy a better wheel eventually, but it is definitely a great light weight travel wheel I will keep even after.

Like when you fall? I was planning to get an S18 as a first wheel and also getting some waterproof motorcycle shoes with that, but plans changed, considering the V8S now, I'm a running shoe guy as well, and I thought meh could rather keep them for this one. Is it the falls that mess up one's ankle?

@@rishi-m What I was talking about is stepping off at a slow speed and the pedal hitting me in the ankle. It hurts and it’ll happen to you at first. Becomes a non issue eventually, but high tops would still probably protect you in a crash and help not twist your ankle if you hit any surprising bad footing when you stop. I still wear high tops if I’m going fast, but I do often ride the V8S in running shoes if I’m just going a couple miles to the store.

@@LauriraYT - I started last August (2021) on a V8F, when I was only 69 1/2 years old then, now 70. I mostly ride 20 to 25 kph on bike trails or on private streets near our home. I've got 845 km (525 miles) on my V8F in about 8 months, so I'm probably in the low mileage range compared to most EUC riders.

King song 16x , 43miles(70km) 3inch wide wheel, still not super heavy, best trolly handle in the game and then it matches the price better for range and weight and it grows with you that way, oh and 16inch wheel, same as v8s 🙂. ( I own a v11 because suspension, not a great learning wheel).

Can I use it on forest trails? Going over roots, gravel? Will the axle break? My Airwheel x3 has survived a lot of forest trail abuse. It's like a donkey. Slow stubborn but reliable

I just bought a used V8F 2 days ago for short distance rides. Today was my first ride on it and i really want to change those pedals as they are really flat. The flat pedals are excellent. You should get used to them because they work great. when you move to a begode and feel the pedals leaning in, so more pressure is on the inside of your feet, it doesn't feel as good. The V8F pedal setup is excellent. My point is, its you, not the pedals. This is the truth, so basically you wont listen like everyone else on yotuube lol

Well i do have a Begode wheel too, so i am used to angled pedals. Maybe it is me and not the wheel, but i like to feel the pressure on my legs. That way i think i have better control even if the V8F isn't a fast wheel.

I had V8F. Now I ride Begode T3. Dimensions are almost the same, but the power and range is completely different level :-) V8F has horrible motor, not reliable at all, weak motor axle. I doubt that they fixed this issue.

Sellers on amazon will 100% NOT provide any warranty support. Even "inmotion direct" which claims to be inmotion, will not help you. You can take your serial number to inmotions warranty support website and they still wont help you. Buying from an EUC retailer that provides a warranty is really the best way to go. Inmotion wont even replace a dead charger under its own warranty. I love their wheels but its kind of a pathetic company

v8 series is overpriced and not worth to buy., at least for adults. Ks18L, ks16xs, tesla3, Msx or v10f cost similiar and offer MUCH more in every aspect.

I dont disagree, but I also think the V8 series is a great first wheel series, its reliable, well built, good in wet conditions, nice big pedals, etc. What you do is buy it, learn on it, then sell it. My V8F only cost me $400 in that regard.
