I got a V8 last year and also got an EX.N a few months back. Every time I pull out my V8 I'm excited about how light and convenient it is. People get all caught up in wheel specs and performance comparisons and forget about how nice it is to pick up a wheel with one hand without straining yourself. Compared to the EX.N it's ultra-portable, featherweight, sidewalk- and pedestrian-friendly, and super chill. It's a great wheel

Same exact story here. I'm keeping my V8F to mount onto my ultralight airplane so I can use it to get around if I fly to a local airport. I bought my EXN HT a month and a half ago and already have over 400miles on it. I fall in love everytime I ride the EXN but have yet to ride my V8 since the EXN came in. LoL

I came here to say the same thing. My bigger wheel is a V11 at about twice the weight. I get excited at any opportunity I have to ride my V8F. It's so easy to stowe behind the driver's seat and pull out when I've got time to kill between appointments. It's completely capable of getting me around on sidewalks and most hills. Carrying it up stairs can be done without grunting. The trolley handle is a thing of beautiful and easily pops out when I need it.

Hi Adam. Ok, so as a V8f owner, I have to say that this is a city / commuter wheel. Riders using this aren’t going to be doing mega off road jumping, so the strength of the axel…or otherwise, really sent quite so important. These are pretty zippy little, light weight wheels that are perfect for learning on and are just so easy to live with. I thought I’d just keep mine for learning on, and then sell it on…….But, it’s a great wheel…I love it…. It’s always in the back of the car for when I want to scoot across town. Honestly…selling it on would be like shooting the family dog!

I've had my V8F for 2yr and over 400mi. Admittedly I live in a flat urban area and am not a performance rider. I am a 6'1" 260+lb rider, it has never even hinted at cutting out, been nothing but reliable with decent range for local runs to the store. Not that it matters to me personally but as I read social media comments, I've always wished that Inmotion had separated the original V8 from the later V8F and V8S from a marketing perspective since the original V8 had a significantly smaller motor and foot pads, nevermind smaller battery. The F&S are confusingly discussed like they are the same wheel as the original.

I have this wheel as my first wheel. I'm a heavier rider at just over 240lbs, but I regularly cruise around 20-22mph on the wheel and get about 20-25 miles of range depending on where I go. This wheel as worked out well for my weight and while I would like a little more performance, I do really like the portable form factor.

Hey man. Glad you are getting fun. An advice from a ex V8F rider. It was my first wheel. I recommend do not push too much your while. I burned out twice the controller riding at 20 miles/per hour and I am 150 pounds/75 kg. So, if you want to ride this wheel for a while. Do not stress it out. Currently I ride a RS19 for have more speed and torque reserve, but I am not a extreme rider. I'm just a very community rider. Greetings friend, keep riding and stay safe.

@@onwheel7529 thanks man. I'm curious, what sort of watts were you pulling riding at 20mph? I'm generally around 700-800 while cruising around, so I figured there was still plenty of reserve. To accelerate I have gotten up to 1200+ but I try not to do that too much on this wheel. I figured as long as I was keeping the watts reasonable it would be fine. Good to know you had some different experiences...

The new black rim looks really good! I wish my wifes V10F would have it. The trolley handle is also much better than the ugly and wobbly one from the V10F, but that so called "tail light" is a bad joke compared to the V10/V10F! V8 and V10 series are still suitable wheels for beginners, advanced riders or simply commuting. 🤙

eh, i like the folding V10\V5 series trolley handle more than telescopic on the V8 actually. I had 3k km on V8 (first wheel) and 3k km on V10F (second). Now also own a V8F. I like the simplicity of folding handles. And they are much better for pulling a helmet through. They are also centered which makes wheel better balanced to trolley.

Sold both my V8 and my mcm5v2 a while ago and actually miss the v8 more than the mcm due to the lightweight, more practical design of the V8. Strongly considering buying the V8S to ride when I don't want to lug around the V11. Once thing I really wish for is more torque on the V8S as it is relatively easy to cut out on it.

This is my 1st wheel!! I learned how to ride an EUC on the V8s this January - 1st 13 miles in the house! There's a dent in the wall where it got away from me. I call my V8s "Little Disc" Even though I ride a Nikola AR+ as my main now, I still come back to this little guy. It's just too fun! I can do my entire bicycle commute of 32 miles on a single charge.

@@privileguan9127 Yes, the InMotion v8s has a 728Wh battery. Note the at the at time, I was a novice, and my average speed was 8mph! I had the speed alarm set at 10mph. My goal is (and currently stands) is to have never have a crash. (Crash defined be me as never hitting the pavement myself in a fall - does not include "dropping the disc" as a I call it - the wheel falling over) I can do 32 miles on a charge, and have some to spare! (according to the InMotion app) I end with a blinking red battery light, and on a long hilly climb at the end! (being a cyclist on my route, I know the work involved, so I don't push this little wheel hard when it's "exhausted") There is a level below the blinking red light, which is NOTHING showing. I've only taken it this low once, and squeaked out 35 miles. I have never had the wheel kick me off (tilback). Currently on my Nikola AR+, 20mph is "thrilling" to me, and my ride yesterday was 53 miles at 50% battery. I'm curious how many miles I can get using all the battery!

Better battery for range and top speed are great. V8f would be my first wheel if I could get one as love the portability for short journeys but to see this update of the v8f still have “that” as a break light when this has come out after the V11 which probably has among the best EUC lighting is just criminal from inmotion. If this had an ip55 rating, slightly better front light and an actual proper break light then this would be the best wheel for beginners and those needing something portable for short commutes by a long way. Really like the flush trolley handle on the v8 models too. These vehicles and this goes for scooters too will only be accepted more widely when safety becomes a priority and good lighting and resistance to sudden changes in weather is key.

Geeez, he is getting younger! Did you shave, or something? Haha. Very good video man. I own a V8F for few months and at the time I bought it I was oscillating to get the V8S or not, then I decided not to - the price difference (a third of the price of V8F more), didn't justify the only difference between the wheels: a little bit larger battery. I already have larger/longer_range/more_powerful wheels, but those are also heavier, not suitable to teach the wife and feral youngsters around the house - the main reason I got the V8F for. Wife won't touch it (you know, "you are old fool and will end up breaking your neck", well... we both have an age, me and her...), however, maybe some of your videos will convince her otherwise, hehe, but the V8F proved to be a bless when I come home in the evening tired from work and I don't have the mood to ride a heavier wheel, this toy is so nice and humble, and it still can go to 33kph without a tilt. I even had it in office for a while, using it to go to the coffee machine, to the delight of my colleagues, who call it "middle age crisis" :D. Anyhow, kudos and kutgw.

@@BrunoM66 I am 85kg and getting to over 90 when fully geared (however, when riding the V8F I only wear a light helmet and wrist protection - never go on the wheel without wrist protection!). On the other hand, this comment is 6 months old, now you can get V10 for the same price like a V8F, it is only a little heavier and better to ride. Regardless of which you buy, you will grow out of it in few months and will want something bigger, faster, eventually with suspension. If you don't want to spend the money two times, buy that bigger/better one first. Now you have some many choices. It will be a little more difficult to learn, but if a relic like me learned on an RS (which is still today my preferred wheel, very fast, average weight, etc.), then you can too, for sure.

6:53 do you know that if you remove the piece you undid there, you can take out the motor without removing pedals? This makes the wheel actually easy to change tire/tube. 4 bolts for outer shells 4 bolts for controller lid 8 bolts between chassis and motor Unplug battery, discharge capacitors Unplug motor and it is free to remove. Ashame they don't have this piece on V10 (well... You can always just saw off the piece of plastic lol)
@rcgldr
@rcgldr Жыл бұрын
That piece isn't the issue. Early V8 series had the two shell screws blocked by the pedals, but the shell screws are now lower, below the pedals, so the pedals no longer have to be removed. That piece needs to be opened and the trolley handle popped up a bit in order to twist the shells to unlock them.

What's the pickup free speed? Is it identical to the V8F? I know the original V8 is 44km/h which is very low considering they offer 30km/h max speed. 14km/h is not a great margin of safety. In my mind the Original V8 is a 25km/h wheel.

I live in a fairly rural, paved area (MA, USA FWIW), ~15 min car drive from towns. I am ~181 kg/185 cm. It’s just for fun, not commuting or city use. Off-road ability would be very cool as well. I struggle with the usual dilemma- go low end to learn then have to upgrade, or go higher end and not have to upgrade afterward but learning is harder. The recent Begode battery failure issues don’t help the decision! The v10f or maybe a mid-range King Song?

No battery balancing on the V8F? I've got 500 miles on my V8F, and 100% charge voltage still shows as 83.6 volts, the same since I got it last August. I weigh about 85kg without gear, but I ride conservatively, 20 to 25 kph, occasionally up to 30 kph max. I keep track of peak current, and usually keep it below 20 amps, occasionally up to 25 amps (small bumps on inclines or when accelerating can cause peak current spikes). Fuse is 30 amp blade fuse, which is spec'ed to run 100+ hours at 33 amps , so in effect it's a 33 amp fuse. At 40 amps, the fuse can blow in as little as 0.75 seconds. A few testers (including Wrong Way) have blown the fuses though.

I am considering getting a smaller wheel. I tried this and the mcm5. The v8s felt friendlier, easier to ride, but that may be because it is the same wheel size as the one I have. The mcm5 is more compact and could be put in a backpack. Also cheaper. I haven't decided.

MCM5 is more power and range but convenience and comfort is nowhere near. Kinda stupid that MCM5 is cheaper. Think this: Gotway is Lamborghini, Inmotion is Mercedes

I bought this year a KS16S. It's small and has a bigger battery than the V8S. You can look at the tests on this channel. I bought it because he said it was a good wheel and I know this wheel has proven itself to be reliable. It's cheaper.

@@Ubeogesh Yes it's better to buy bigger pedals because original ones are too narrow. And make a magnetic system. But in fact people having it don't even complain about the pedals or the wide battery pack. What is the most annoying is the loud bips. And you also have the problem that the lift switch doesn't seem to work perfectly every time. And I have to say that the trolley is way too low if you are tall. But at least this wheel has a big battery and a rear light that the V8s doesn't even have. And you can also replace the tire by a bigger one (it involves modifying the case) which is what I did (and it makes the trolley higher). And it's cheaper.

Hello Mr :) Great video as always (y) You're saying that this wheel isn't suitable for heavy rider? I weigh around 100kg, that is all naked :D I would like to get a small wheel to ride in Paris, go to the theater, go visit stores, stuffs like that. No big rides really. This v8S seemed a good purchase, but now, I don't know. What do you think?

Does weatherproofing an euc for extra protection void the warranty? Or does the manufacturer consider this regular maintenance. Y'all are such light riders. I don't think i weighed under 170 since HS, even when i jog 30-40 miles a week i weigh more than 180 lbs.

the most annoying part about the V8 series is how expensive it is. I bought my first V8 for $900 in 2017. That was OK back then. But EUC prices kinda inflated since then. I.e. new models didn't lead to depreciation of old ones. So V8F costs 33% more than V8 did and V8S 50% more! if they were to cut the price below 1k it'd be a hit.

6:55 The sound of cracking plastic isn't worth $1,000 to me. The wheel hadn't even touched the ground and handling it cracks the case. Our world is filled with cheap plastic junk already. Water ingress through that crack could mean another ruined PC board.

@@cascade5682 i think you put the timestamp a bit too late. 6:53 look carefully where Adams hand is. Hi, thanks for your videos! I just ordered this wheel (V8S) for myself last week from EUCO, and a V11 for my husband. Incidentally, I tried to use your coupon code with them, and it didn’t work. I sent a message asking them to apply it manually, but didn’t get a response. You might want to check that out if you’re supposed to be getting a fee for advertising them.

I really like the wheel for a city commuter a small light wheel but I am really dissapointed by following: 1. Why they didnt use a solid tail light? 2. Kickstand is useless and I would say even dangerous on these wheels. My v10F is tipping like crazy with slightless disturbance. 3. The price is just extreme. i was expecting it to be like 1200 E. 4. And yeah they could have improved the front light situation

And it's kind of nice to have as a backup. The trolley handle is a perfect fit for this wheel! The incredibles tail light really does suck lol 😆

Dont forget speak about topic this "small EUC" can be easy overleaned by heavy riders. EUC companies are too mutch optimistic write for this devices 100-120kg max ETC. This can make for heavy riders make dangerous situation on potholes or aceleration/braking. I think 85kg is max safety weight for EUC under 1000Wh. 16KG V8S compared to V10F 20kg is very close and can confirm V10F with "Marty" ridding style can easy handle 110+ rider with 40km real world range.

Motor is rated at 1000w nominal, 2000w peak, but based on battery tests, at 30 amps, V8F battery pack sags about 14 volts, V8S about 10 volts, battery pack at 80 volts | 30 amps would be a bit less than 2000w on V8F, a bit more than 2000w on V8S, so the motor would be less. However, a 30 amp fuse is rated to run at 100+ hours at 33 amps, so it's really a 33 amp fuse. Wrong Way blew a fuse when testing a V8F.
