Purchased this tool years ago, still works great and has saved me thousands of dollars from going to the shop to diagnose the problem. It will tell you that you have a misfires cylinder and even tell you which one it is. Iv used it on many people's cars and it was well worth the $100 I spent at the local Walmart store on it.

The 3100 is capable of erasing "check engine" codes. When a code is erased without correcting the problem it will likely reappear after a certain number of drive cycles. If you have questions about a vehicle's integrity the best thing to do would be to have a certified mechanic or dealership inspect it before making a purchase. Please download and install the software from our website. The software can be found under 'Support' and selecting 'Troubleshoot/Downloads'. Download & Install the application for the 3100f for your device.

I try to check my car it's a 2003 toyota tacoma 4x4 v6 . And i have the innova 3100 . But show me in the screen . Unable to establish a link with the vehicle .verify the connection at DLC.. verify the ignition is on. I check the cable and everything but i still have the problem.. do u have any solution.? You have the latest version of our 3100 tool that has ABS capabilities, and a more user friendly setup. You can find your FF function on the bottom left button that reads "DTC/FF".

Can I get my 3100 (No letter) upgraded to accept CAN codes, or do you have a trade in program? I am unable to diagnose my 2006 Taurus - all get is an Err code

It can be used on any cars as long as it OBD-2

but the video doesn't show how to properly save the codes on the reader & how to properly eject it from the data link port located under the steering wheel. I am new to this OBD2 stuff. I'm scared of damaging the datalink port & OBD2 reader if I ejected it wrong.

You don't explain the yellow led light. Have yellow light still on and no codes days after replacing part and clearing code and driving car. And you don't explain if you have to erase codes to get light leds to change status or just leave and car ecu will clear?

The tool has 3 LED lights. If the tool shows the green LED light when you connect it to your vehicle, your vehicle is smog ready.

No, unfortunately, this older model 3100 does not show Live readings for Oxygen Sensors. We do have other tools with the Live Data feature that support voltage reading for oxygen sensors, depending on the year, make, and model, like the newer 3100RS.

On the battery icons there are 4 icons and you don't explain what they are for. I get the left and right arrows blinking during testing in progress and the testing progress never ends. Even after leaveing it to test after 5 to 7 minutes will show a code if interupted with menu mode /car is 2001 whats that mean. The others don't light up just arrows blinking..

On my windows 10 pc, once the USB cable connected I get the connection message both on unit (RepairSolutions Follow repairsolutions at PC to transfer data) and on pc a usb message but no additional dedicated screen pops up or I can't go online. Any help?

I have a 3100 with no letter, and no two buttons in the center of the unit (just four buttons at the "corners"). When I try to get codes from a 2001 Tacoma, I get an "Err" response. There is no obvious discussion of the "Err" code in the manual.

Thank you for your comment. ERR means the tool is not able to connect to your vehicle successfully. Please try starting the vehicle's engine prior to connecting the tool and connect it with the engine running. If the tool still does not link please disconnect the tool, remove the batteries, and connect it back to the vehicle with the engine running. If the tool does not turn on then you have no power at DLC, we would suggest checking all the fuses under the dash. Any blown fuse will affect the connection with the reader. Please replace any blown fuses and try again. If this does not work please contact us at your earliest convenience at 800-544-4124 so we can better assist you with this problem.

Just bought my 3100 abs . Looking at this demo I see that it is outdated because my 3100 is different (e.g. there is no "FF" button but an "ABS" button, etc. WTF?

+Erik Chavez - Thank you for your inquiry. The 3100 no letter doesn’t have CAN protocol, so it is unable to scan 2004 and newer vehicles. The 3100i does have the CAN protocol and will scan 1996 and newer vehicles. The 3100i has a color display screen, It also able to scan for ABS on most Domestic vehicles.

I'm concerned that a person selling a used vehicle could use this device to erase all of their vehicle Problem Codes. Therefore making it look as if the vehicle is in good order when in fact it is a lemon. Please tell me the truth here, as I am in the market for a used car and I think this tool would be very helpful in determining the condition of a used vehicle. What, if any, safeguards are there? Again I am alarmed that this could be used for fraudulent vehicle sales, please correct my belief.
