Great video 👍 FYI, for some of ur viewers: Bank 1 is driver side, Bank 2 is passenger side Sensor 1 is the sensor closest to the front, Sensor 2 is farther rear. Example: If O2B1S2 is bad, you don't need to replace them all. Just the one O2 sensor on the driver side behind the catalytic converter. (Sensor 1 is closer to the engine, if you follow the tube)
@22mrwright Жыл бұрын
See how his 02B1S2 doesn't fluctuate much, is that a bad sensor?
@hmata3 Жыл бұрын
@@22mrwright Great observation. It probably is, but you would want to compare against the values for the other sensor on the same side, B1S1, and see if those fluctuate equally. If B1S1 also don't fluctuate as much, then it should be ok. Otherwise, I'd consider changing it as well. 👍

@good2boost529 Жыл бұрын
Hey, I'm just now seeing this. Thank you!! And yeah so you have an oxygen sensor before, and after the cat. That's why some cars have 4 02 sensors because the car has 2 cats, but that's mainly 6-8 cylinders with 2 banks. More often than not, an 02 sensor reading of 99% is cause by a bad sensor. It could also be wiring so just give that a look before replacing the sensor. I think I went over that in one of my later videos, but if not it will definitely be in the new one I'm posting tonight!

I have a cable throttle body on my '99 Honda Civic. My TPS is perfectly calibrated according to voltage (.49v-4.54v), but according to my TPS PID I'm at 9% throttle with the engine off or at idle. I've been chasing a high idle, and after much research, checking for vacuum leaks and parts swapping, I'm suspecting the TPS. I see your % is at zero, when at idle, and I'm assuming when it's shut off. Should all cable throttle body cars have a zero value, or is 9% the value it sends to receive the appropriate fuel for idle and iac system?

Online it looks like this is a common problem with lots of suggestions on what Could be wrong. I checked the temperature of the catalytic converter with an infrared thermometer and that seemed to be in an acceptable range. I checked my gas cap and that seemed loose, so I replaced that. I have been filling with premium gas. I bought an obj scanner and the code is p0420. Live data shows 02b1s1 - 2.788. O2b1s2 - .840. O2b2s1 - 2.765 O2b2s2 - .735. Do these numbers tell you anything?

I'm trying to understand some live data that I recorded from my 2000 Olds Bravada. It has been running rough for a while now and I thought that I'd try and find out why. It idles rough and lacks power when accelerating. It also stalled on me twice now and wouldn't start back up. Here is the data that is stored on my reader. DTC_CNT 1 FUELSYS1 CL FUELSYS2 CL LOAD_PCT(%) 3.1 ETC(*F) 198 SHRTFT1(%) -0.8 LONGFT1(%) -10.9 SHRTFT2(%) 0.8 LONGFT2(%) -18.0 MAP(inHg) 9.7 RPM(/min) 652 VSS(mph) 0 SPARKADV(*) 19 IAT(*F) 111 MAF(lb/min) 0.712 TP(%) 0.0 O2B1S1(V) 0.820 SHRTFTB1S1(%) 0.8 O2B1S3(V) 0.190 O2B2S1(V) 0.120 SHRTFTB2S1(%) -3.1 This was recorded while idling at operating temp, I want to know if these readings are normal or do they indicate a problem. The one code that came up is p0135. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
@good2boost5298 жыл бұрын
well for starters the code p0135 is the oxygen sensor heater circuit for bank 1 sensor 1. before replacing the sensor check the wiring and the connector on both sides for any dirt, oil, or anything that shouldnt be there. the ecm will keep the car in open loop while the code is on and cause the engine to run really rich but I see that ur one fuel trim is reading -18.0 which is taking fuel away. this tells me that it lacking power is probably caused from a vaccum leak and it running rough and stalling is from the sensor. the ecm tests the sensor to see that the oxygen sensor heater is working properly while warming up. if the wiring and connector on both sides look fine, has no dirt or oil or black marks from burning I would replace the sensor. you could also make sure it is gettin proper voltage with the key turned on (engine off) and the connector just to be sure. then I would also check for vaccum leaks. get back to me if/when u find anything and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!
@autoguy19788 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info man! I did replace that sensor last year thinking it was the cause but the code never went away. So I thought that it may have been a faulty sensor. It was a bosch that I got from an auto parts store. Then I heard that bosch sensors don't perform well in GM vehicles so I ordered an AC Delco one but that didn't fix it either. So I believe that it may be in the wiring.

Could you please make a video with info on diagnosing cylinder misfires using the live data on these OBDII scanners (if possible)?
@good2boost5297 жыл бұрын
Ashur deKelaita well monitoring misfires with scanners only give you a cylinder misfire count and let's you know how many times there is a miss. but I can definitely make a video on how to diagnose a misfire and how to pin point what cylinder it is if you don't have a scanner with those capabilities
@michaelashurdekelaita1047 жыл бұрын
Good2Boost would that be in the LIVE Data section or you mean just when you get an error code in the stored/pending section. I have my car in now getting new spark plugs and perhaps coils (hopefully no injector needed) for a cylinder 5 misfire, and just want a way to diagnose with more accuracy to make sure the problem is indeed solved, since I would only get the misfire when jumping on the throttle. But my car was also running rich in bank 1 so appreciate all the info on live data as pertains to Oxygen sensors and fuel trim figures. There are no figures in Live Data that records data for spark plugs and ignition correct?
@good2boost5297 жыл бұрын
Ashur deKelaita that kinda sounds like a ignition issues bad coil maybe. and as far as using the scanner if you have a higher end one you can see exactly what cylinder is misfiring even if the cel isn't on for a miss. but the cause of it is up to you to figure out so I will Def make a video on that to show you how I go about finding which cylinder and why
@good2boost5297 жыл бұрын
