In this rings dips and rings push-ups video, I push the limits of strength and balance at the age of 69, showcasing extreme gymnastic rings dips and push-ups that will leave you in awe.
To set up balancing bar dips using calisthenics rings, follow these steps:
1. Hang two pairs of gymnastic rings at shoulder height or slightly lower
2. Make sure they are securely attached and can support your body weight.
3. Adjust the rings to be approximately shoulder-width apart. You can measure this by using the distance from your elbow to the tip of your middle finger as a guide
4. Insert a sturdy bar or pipe through each pair of rings. The bar should be long enough to extend beyond the rings on both sides, allowing you to grip it comfortably
5. Ensure the bars are level and parallel to each other. This will create a setup similar to parallel bars, but with the added instability of the rings.
6. Test the stability of the setup before attempting any dips. Make sure the bars don't slip or rotate within the rings.
This setup would likely create a hybrid exercise combining elements of:
Ring push-ups wuth the instability of the suspended rings.
Parallel bar push-ups with the fixed bar grip.
Balance training as the bars would move and require stabilization.
Those are the benefits of such a setup could include:
1. Increased core engagement to stabilize the moving bars
2. Enhanced proprioception and body awareness.
3. Greater challenge to the stabilizing muscles around the shoulders.
