Let me give my take of the (Forza version) Nurburgring... do your "damage" on the GP section before entering the "Green Hell" section. Because once in the "Green Hell" section, you need titanium nerves and patieance [pardon my spelling] to make your passes there.

Have you tried vr for racing? If so, can you get even close to the immersion with a setup like yours? I'm torn between vr and triple screen but I thought maybe I could add to the realism by making a "cockpit" frame and covering it with black cloth

Yes I have. And it's not for me. At least not yet. I get motion sickness from VR and for now I prefer triples screens. But there are definitely pros and cons with both systems. What I recommend, if you have the opportunity, try both before committing. I did something similar with my setup. I have a 1st gen Oculus quest and while it's super immersive, I also get motion sickness especially when drifting or rallying and definitely would need an upgrade too. I'll have to look for a sim to try the triples on since it's definitely a much bigger investment especially if you want it to feel immersive

Honestly, with the Fanatec DD+ and the motion rig, it feels really close! You definitely get that raw feedback from the car and track that’s hard to match. Of course, it’s never going to be 100% the same as a real car. G-forces are hard to replicate, but it’s about as close as you can get without being on an actual track. It’s a pretty immersive experience!
