This is my new favourite series on clevver because it shows how strong Erin is and how much pain she has been through. I think that she is so brave to share her story with everyone and I truly admire her for it. I hope you are starting to feel better and I hope that everything turned out ok in the end. And if anyone else reading this is suffering from fibroids I hope you all get better and grow stronger from the experience. x

If you can't stay strong Erin, don't force it. You are a strong person, but you don't always have to be strong. It's okay to be weak at times. It's okay to lean on your husband for support. It's okay to take comfort in your friends. It's okay to cry, and it's okay to be scared. You are loved... by your husband, by your friends, colleagues, and by us. We appreciate how you're sharing your journey with us, even when what you're going through is so painful and private.

I am so sorry. I know the pain of being told you can't have children. My husband and I were told in 2011 that we couldn't. We now have a 3 year old son through adoption and are in the process of adoption again to make him a big brother. You still can have the joys of motherhood. I know it is so painful when you are in the midst of the pain, but there is joy on the other side. ((hugs))

Yes, totally broke down when she said that too. You are NOT broken Erin, and you are the luckiest girl ever, that man of yours realllyyy seems to love you and looks like he's really in it "for better or for worse." :) Don't feel bad that he is by your side wanting to take care of you - embrace the fact that he loves you enough to do so and let him take care of you :) It doesn't make you any less strong of a woman, he might feel like it's his job as your husband to take care of you ;) Take care!

Erin you and your husband are 2 of the strongest people I've seen. Whatever you decide you'll be ok. I unfortunately had to have a hysterectomy at 27. Luckily I had 3 beautiful children before it happend. If you have the hysterectomy there is always using a surrogate. A total hysterectomy would still leave you with your ovaries. Taking the ovaries is a totally different surgery.

Erin & Matt, May I strongly encourage you to consider seeing a Psychologist (individually & as a couple). There are some who specialize in pain management & serious/chronic illnesses (for Erin), caretakers & spouses of seriously ill (for Matt) as well as, fertility & marriage (for both). There are also Support Groups. I know you both are super busy, but you MUST not ignore your mental health during this unexpected and grueling journey.

Honestly are people missing the point that you need to be more active in your health and go to the doctor yearly instead of letting it get that far . Every sexually active person should go to the gyno once a year for your health it's something important and that's something people shouldn't take so lightly .
@renlish
@renlish 7 жыл бұрын
Sooo true... but ANYONE who experiences pain like that should go get checked out, sexually active or not. Fibroids are not caused by sex, they are not an STI. There's nothing to be ashamed of if you have them.

wait are telling me that in Ireland women aren't allowed to go to the OBGYN until they're 25? if so that's crazy! I've never heard of that, tbh I didn't even know there were laws or age restrictions for this idk maybe bcuz I'm from America. idk wow that jst totally blows my mind, I mean I kno Mother's that bring their daughter's when they get their 1st period, to have to wait til ur 25 might be dangerous, I mean look at Erin's story I never even knew what Fibroids were and after hearing some countries DON'T even let u go until a certain age I really should be taken advantage of my local Doctors bcuz I totally don't take care of myself ( like I only go when I ABSOLUTELY have to) this DEF has opened my eyes.
@JaneMcQ100
@JaneMcQ100 7 жыл бұрын
27candicerae I believe you CAN.. but it isn't generally done AT ALL.. I believe that it's expensive and when you're over 25 it's lower. this is what it says online. "Based on evidence to date, there is no additional public health benefit in starting cervical screening below the age of 25. In women under the age of 25, minor changes in the cells of the cervix are common but invasive cancer is extremely rare. Population based screening in women under the age of 25 may lead to many women receiving unnecessary treatment" It goes on to say if you're worried though go to a doctor. Thanks Ireland

I personally want to thank you Erin, for sharing this. Females after puberty should get their yearly check up, and stick with it. It's very important to our health. I too have had my fair share of health issues and I have been told that I may not be able to have children. When someone tells you that, you feel totally defeated, crushed and utterly heartbroken. My heart is with you. I wish you the best of luck and recovery. 💞

This is my new favorite clevver series. Erin thank you for opening up, and talking about something a lot of people don't understand. You like millions of others are battling with an invisible illness. Something that effects your life so profoundly, that no one can physically see. I myself have one, no one knows how much pain I'm in, no one knows how many medicines I take daily, and the low levels of chemo I take monthly just so I can be semi functional. I have been having similar pains to Erin for years and have not gone to the OBGYN either. Because of this show I am finally going to figure out what is causing this pain. I can not say enough how thankful I am for this series and the message it is putting out. If it was not for this show I do not think I would have scheduled this appointment. Thank you so much Erin for being brave enough to share this journey you are going through.

Erin is such a strong woman and last year I just got my first period and still learning about my body. And that you being told that you might not have any kids, a lot of bleeding, and a constant pain is so powerful that you can go through all of that and still have ways to be happy. This goes to show that woman is not lesser than men, they are equally or more stronger than men. (Btw I hope that you can still live a happy life and know that this might help other women that might be going through the same thing in the future and hope you feel better sooner than later) *hugs and major support*

Erin is so strong, this must be terrifying to think of at such a young age. But her husband is so supportive, he clearly loves her so much. I can't imagine how hard this must be for her, and how hard it must be for her husband not being able to do anything about it. But you do what you have to do.

My mother went through this last year (she had some of the largest cysts that her doctors had ever seen) and it was extremely difficult. It was hard for me to envision the pain she was going through on a daily basis. My mother is a strong woman and to see her getting knocked down just really got to me, I can tell it was the same for those around you as well. Just know you are NOT broken, you are such a strong, amazing, and inspirational woman that has a great man and great friends by her side. I'm so glad you are getting better

This takes a lot of courage to share your whole journey, surgery, appointments etc with the rest of the world. Instead of moping about and crying over your problems, you use them to help others going through the same, or similar things. Erin, you are extremely brave and strong and I think everyone can agree with me when I say that I admire you for your courage. Thank you for sharing everything it's us all, though your journey isn't over for us, you still continue to share everything with a camera following you around. Stay strong Erin! Xx 💜

My heart goes out to you guys. I wish you all the best. Erin, you are a strong woman for not only going through what you go through but for sharing it with us, for being honest and talking about something very few people know about. From this moment on, believe it or not you are becoming an insparation, a role model and a source of strength for many women. Matt, you are an amazing man for sticking with Erin through all of this, you are proving that no matter what love can push through even the toughest of times. You are showing a generation of men how to be exactly that, a man and not a coward who runs as soon as things get hard and I admire you for that. Through your pain I have been inspired to not only make sure i am healthy but that my female relatives amd friends are as well. You have also given me hope that real love can still be found. I may not know you but I want you to know, my heart and prayers are with you and I love you guys. Stay Strong, I am here for you. ❤❤❤❤

you are both so strong and handling this so well. coping with chronic pain/invisible illness is so difficult physically and emotionally. it's hard because we feel like because we look "normal" on the outside, like we have to put on a front so people don't notice anything is wrong but when you let people in and let them see the bad parts most of the time they will do anything they can to help even if it's just a small gesture. I hope you find the solution that's best for you. stay strong.

I cried so hard when she said, “would he have married me if he knew I was broken”. I think I might have fibroids as well and my biggest fear is being unable to have anymore children. I have a daughter and although I don’t know if I want to have anymore children, it’s still scary to me. I want to at least have the option.
