Most genuine sailing people on KZbin by far and away. Most are frauds and clickbaiters and/or have no experience and winging it all the time just for the insta thumbnails etc, not these two, proper real people and Pascy's man has a good deep solid knowledge of everything he does on board. 10/10

The hardest part for me as an old guy when I started watching you was figuring out the name of your boat from hearing you say it. Between my lack of ear for Ausie English and the rather esoteric name of the boat it took me a while. Thanks again for all the trouble you go to to make KZbin videos. I don’t watch regular tv much any more so I really look forward to seeing what you are up to

Ray, you're not alone! I've been racing yachts with various Aussie crew on board my boats for 25+ yrs and I still can't understand half of what they're going on about ("about" spoken like a Canadian...cuz I'm a Canuck eh!). It's a unique accent but they're a good bunch and bloody good in a rough sea. Cheers, from SY Miss Foxy, SINGAPORE.

I really admire your accomplishments both with the up-fit of your boat and with your travels. Super Job and many thanks for sharing with us. I wish you lived here (US) so I could meet you in person. I purchased my first sailboat last fall (1965 Person Vanguard) and your channel is the closest of anything on KZbin that I could find similar to my situation - older style boat with narrow hull design but very solid. My boat was up-fitted by the previous owner about 5 years before I bought her and most of my learning has been to investigate/learn what was done by someone else. I have been doing my own little improvements and modifications since the day I purchased it but I fall short of anything close to your clear thinking - not enough experience yet is my thinking. And I must say you guys have done an amazing job with your Clansman. You have inspired me to make changes and additions that will improve the boat - thank you again so much for sharing your ideas and successes. I really admire you both as a couple and as sailors and ships-men. Keep up the great adventure. God Speed and good fortune.

As a compulsive armchair KZbin sailer who is desperately trying to convince his wife that sailing a little boat like yours on really great adventures is where we need to be headed, this episode is going to make it so much easier !!! Yes space is at a premium but great planning makes life 'easier' and when it's easier it's more relaxed and fun. And you guys have documented this so well. These videos have been a pleasure to share with you (especially loved the Kimberleys !!!!!), thanks so much. We don't seem to get many Clansmans for sale in the UK so next best option for me might be a Vega. Love these classic early fibreglass boats that seem bulletproof and have an ability to sail anywhere (with a decent captain of course !!!!).

Ingenious solutions to perennial sailboat layout problems, always with an eye on the possibility of things failing (I am also of the fundamental belief that you should regard everything a boat as being likely to fail and have a back-up plan for each thing), and it even looks good; nice one.

I am glad to hear you advocate for a "Sea Chest". I have never understood why some people who clearly have the Opportunity when refitting or building a boat do not avail themselves of that option. In addition, I am a strong believer in cooling the Main engine with a keel cooler. Something as simple as a pipe on the outside of the hull running the entire length, filled with radiator fluid, being cooled by the seawater, and returning cool fluid to the engine would eliminate all kinds of heat-exchanger and raw water cooling pump problems. I would guess that a very large percentage of below deck problems are the result of not having those two options installed. I love what you did as it not only shows pride but also a good understanding of how to optimize available resources. All the best to you both.

Spent some time on a relatives's 35ft catch and you wouldn't think there would be such a big difference between 30 and 35 but I don't think I could travel on anything smaller than that even on my own. Everything is really well laid out on your boat and as you've said, it costs you so little which is great but I think I'd get a bit stir crazy in such a small space. Thanks for all your great videos, very informative and fun. I do have a concern on the bung location, Here is the scenario, You come back to your yacht from a trip to shore and you find 3 feet of water in the cabin. The pull drawer and the surrounding wood has swelled and locked the pull drawer in place. Sounds like a bad location for the bungs. I know, I am a pessimist. I am really just being selfish because I enjoy watching you two so much, I don't want anything bad to happen. It might interfere with you putting out another great video. Stay safe and have fun. Nice. Great to see what all that hard work has meant. We missed the opportunity to buttonhole you for a look in both Freo and Exmouth, but we also have a Maxie meths stove like yours, that is surplus to our requirements and in a shed in Perth should you ever require it for parts. Also re electric propulsion motors, one thing people seem to forget about this is that a sailboat already has a very small carbon footprint because most of the time it is WIND POWERED! The diesel is for auxiliary purposes only. And 200 ltrs per year of diesel is just 2 or 3 fill ups for a car, which no one gives a second thought to.

Boat looks awesome. I'm doing a complete rebuild now! Not easy, but worth it if you want a custom home.

I was hoping we would get a proper tour even though I've watched everything of the refit. Troy you did a cracking good job with all the cabinetry & electrical wiring is top notch. Every little space has it's purpose. Great work on the galley it's all just terrific. Can't wait for the top side tour.
