Inside The Alien Base! | Subnautica Pt. 6 | Marz

In part 6, we head back to the Alien Base where we finally learn some of the truth of what's happened to this planet and now worry about how to stop the infection from spreading and end it's quarantine.
This game has been suggested for a long time so I decided to check it out on Streams and explore. I've had a ton of fun just zoning out to this game so figured I'd sync this over for those who were looking for it!

1:41:22 The huge benefit of one unified base is that you combine all the Power generation. Right now the Moonpool has its own Solar Panel that sits idle a lot of the time, instead of contributing to the Power economy of the base.

Tip: Before you pick up something new, scan it, because sometimes that will then unlock recipes that just picking it up won't.

@@eclipsewaves If you follow the logs that you find on the floating island, yes. The Degassi survivors went down there after the floating island and built another base, then abandoned it.

@@eclipsewaves you also get some pretty useful blueprints from the Degassi base in there... Like water filtration system and stuff... And it's also it's the easiest place to get magnetite... There's also a base of theirs in the bulb bush biome with all the Crabsquids

✨ I enjoy the base building and growbed planting part of the game, just as much as the resource gathering, story progressing, and coffee while sitting down and looking out of the window aspects of the game 😍 You should get a Creepvine Seed Cluster and plant it. The light will look great on your base. It would help to build a Medical Fabricator in your main base too 🤔 Personally, I'd move your loot corridor and scanner room [Up] and having them coming off of your Multipurpose Rooms. Having Cross + sections connecting your Multipurpose Rooms to Scanner Room / Observation Room / Moonpool etc creates Alcoves which are great places to put Lockers, Wall Lockers, Fabricators etc, or have Windows in the Alcoves (they are big when put on the end, like half domes.) vHalfDomeWindow (SR)+(MR)-

you can use the repulsion cannon (when you will be able to build it) to make at least some of the stalkers go away (not Toothless), but don't point it towards your base, cause you might damage it. It kinda pushes them away (works with smaller/medium-sized fishes/objects). I use the creepvines to illuminate my base.

Tip for exterior growbed, try to plant things that you will use for fabrication: Gel Sack, Creepvine Seed Cluster, Deep Shroom, Blood Oil ;)

You should plant creep vine seeds (not grass). It will make beautiful glow at night. Also you should plant more gel sacks. You will need it later.

a tray of creepvine clusters under the observatory is very nice, nice yellow light, and plantpots with lantern fruit in the glass hallways light up the base..

Marz, you need to remember, you are NOT safe from the Leviathan just because you are on the surface. You need to leave it's area to be safe.

Marz ,i hope u read comments coz this will help alot ,the scanner room cameras have to be spreaded out(like 300m)from all four sides of the room itself , because the further away it is the more area u can scan for items ,if u do this u will be able to find better items and much faster

I like planting the creepvine seeds ‘cause they’re possibly the only plant that yields 2 items when cultivated-creepvine and the seeds-and the latter also double as free yellow lighting for the garden and/or base.

I know it is much too late to tell you but you can just bring back any of the small fish and release it outside your observatory. They will stay there. If you bring a pair they will not dissapear after a while too. I always make a zoo/garden of all possible things I find outside my observatories. I find it much better than putting them in the small aquarium the game provides.

Tip: Warpers can take you out of the seamoth and prawn suit, but not the cyclops. They will attack you by throwing warp orbs at you that warp you closer to them or spawn a random predator to take care of you. This predator cannot be leviathan class. They will attack you until you get further in the game. Also, what are the odds of dealing with a reaper and a warper at the same time? By the way you CAN attach the moonpool to the base. Just gotta position it right.

The Seamoth also got a temperature-indicator on the lower right of screen, displayed in Celsius. Very useful for locating spots to place heat-absorbing power generators, and knowing where it's not safe to eject the sub due to burn-damage. Dunno the exact max. temp to swim in, that is.... ^^;

You already have compass on your HUD. And the scanner on the map are resonating from your base at your place. You should easily get where you wanna go from there.

With this game you really have to think and _evolve_ your game play. For example "Water" early game, Bladder Fish, while Bladder Fish is easy in your home area. Have you noticed the bladder Fish are getting harder to find. Bleach into water is the next step. Bulbo trees is next...at this stage of the game you should be using the Bulbo Trees for most of your water needs and ONLY drinking the bottled water when you are out away from your base. You should prepare ahead and fill a storage locker with pre made bottled water. Before "hitting the road" fill up on water from your trees. If your base runs out of power at night build more solar panels...or look for a better way to produce power, *hint* you have 2 other ways, THINK.

So inside the weapon facility there's actually a portal that takes you to the plantland. Which doesn't really matter since you found plantland before you went into the facility. Lol

If you didn't figure it out already it was probably the unfinished stairs blocking you from building the hatch, not the water! If you can't build something you think you should, always check that you don't have any unfinished things on attached to the same base part!

You'd also probably have better time building a base in a bit more spacious biome, but maybe you find nice biomes later :) Other than the confusing game mechanics, I enjoy seeing you struggle though Hope you don't get spoiled by the chat too much :)

If you want some tips on food in the game, and haven't already ben told by the others, here's some: Collect aloooooot of salt and combine them with Peepers to build up your rations for long trips etc. Unless they have changed this, the resulting Cured Peepers will last forever, so you can store them for as long as needed and eat them whenever w/o worrying them spoiling. Peepers are the most nutritious fish in the beginning, but later you will find the 100% best one. If you wanna know who, it is -------------------------------------------------------------> Reginald.

nah you don't need to do that, there's a much easier and simpler solution but requires to build first the Cyclops and get the indoor growbed, you can grow marblemelons in the cyclops and never gonna need to worry with both food and water
