Betim and Dmitry are true gems in the Porsche customization world. Betim is so unbelievably knowledgeable and well-spoken about the history and engineering of these cars, and Dmitry behind the scenes can only be described as a genius engineer/designer. Every trip to BBI is like Disneyland for car guys. And for those that are comparing these cars to a Singer...they serve very very different audiences. I'll go BBI all day.

I can totally understand and even agree about respecting the original design, for the sheer ART of it. But mechanics, engineering, technology, everything EVOLVES and can make classics MUCH better in every way. Don't need to be perfect, to keep the character, but can always improve. Personally, I couldn't care less about keeping the bad stuff original. I love restomods and will make every car I ever own in my entire life better in some big or small way, as good and reasonable as possible. Even design can be improved in some cases, with just a little touch, beautiful things can become even more beautiful.

Liked the mention of heading up to La Turbie above Monaco. My cousin owned a townhouse just above the square . For those not familiar, see the film Ronin ( with DeNiro ) the gunfight in the square is La Turbie. But there's another twisty road which looks down into Monaco below. This one is called Sere De La Madone. This one you'd access by heading west out of Monaco into Menton. it would be a 90 degree left and to turn into the street/road. This will twist & wind up to Peille to the Col De La Madone. It was / is one of my favorite cycling training loops up to 900 meters. It was also so much fun driving the Peugeot 205 GTI on this loop out & back down into Monaco. But there's nothing quite like descending back down to Monaco full gaz on two wheels to stay away from the incoming thunder/lightning heavy downpour.. In the wet Monaco streets become slick from oil... Fun !! I lived with my aunt & uncle when I was young in Monaco, my uncle Christian a Monegasque used to race the Monte Carlo Rally in his 1960's Giulia. Hoping to return in 2025/26....
