In my expert opinion as a high end builder who has built many houses this size and is currently building a 7,500 square foot house with a 5 car garage, pool and tennis courts on a lake in Michigan I think this builder did a great job. Love the curved stone entry. The trim and tile details and staging are well done too. Personally I would have put the wine cellar in the walk out basement. The traffic noise is unfortunate but the house is fabulous.

I toured this home sometime ago. It’s pretty awesome. I believe it’s still on the market mainly because of the lot- on a busy street and with near to no backyard- which also is not particularly private. But I’m sure it will sell eventually.

Did you end up building? It seems like they're not REALLY trying to sell this one and use it more like a showplace the same way Cambridge is with their Terra model: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWPSdoSOZtWMoaMsi=fZt8JrNylpfESfvp

Not much yard or privacy, of course I would have to win the lottery, but I would buy it tomorrow as it sits staged, love the outside and the inside is spectacular. I would have the nicest golf simulator you ever seen, with a full bar, there`s plenty of room, pool in the back for sure with the staircase, it`s stunning and show houses are loaded, I love it. Be well my friend.

This is just not for me.. I prefer wooden staircases and banisters. We don't drink, so the wine can go away along with the supermarket doors in the kitchen area. OMG! Get rid of those ladders! Can you 😮 the trips to the ER for broken bones. I'm not thrilled about the light fixtures either especially in the bedrooms. Oh, and I agree with you about the fireplace. I would prefer a wood burning one. But, of course, if I could afford this place, I would have someone to do all the work for me.

I think the lights in the bedroom working off the same switch would be a non-issue for me because I generally put Alexa bulbs in the bedroom lamps and can work them individually that way. I have most of the lights in my house set up on Alexa. I feel like a lot of people are starting to do that.

There are a lot of cool things about this home, but for the price, I think they made some really weird choices. I love how they did the kitchen and dining area. That was one of my favorite parts. I also really liked the lounge area, or "speakeasy" and the attention to mudroom/cleanup areas before you get into the main part of the house. It seemed a strange choice to have glass front doors. I would rather see a solid door maybe with glass sidelights as a surround to let light in. I thought the huge glass wine storage area was ridiculous and a bit tacky. It takes up far too much real estate right where everyone can see it as soon as they walk in the house, and it's not adding positively to the overall aesthetics. It would be better to have wine storage in the back near the kitchen or in the basement and have something artsy there instead, or even just open space would be preferable, IMO. The bedrooms and closets were largely underwhelming. The closets in the master bedroom were nice, but seemed a bit lacking in space for hanging clothes. There should be two rows of rods in some areas, and an area for longer hanging clothes. If you fold most of your clothes, a lot of them will need to be ironed before wearing, so that seems silly not to have more hanging areas. The fact that a house with this price, and with a huge walkout basement has 0 square feet of finished basement space is unacceptable. It should include an apartment for guests and a shared recreational space at the very least, and there could still be room for unfinished storage. Very disappointing garage as well. It's not a terrible garage; it just doesn't meet expectations for this size/price of house. Why isn't it at least deeper if nothing else? I also found a lot of the landscaping to be lower quality that I would expect. They need to cut off more of the lower branches of the trees flanking the front path, and the fact that they used arborvitae is just going to look crappy in a few years. The only way those ever look ok is if you're making a natural wall out of them.

Haha “this is the bigger closet. Why does this one get a bigger closet? This is how fights start with kids”. It’s not fair is a phrase I taught my children was part of life and they had to accept it. “They’d torture each other”. I’m laughing because I had 3 kids in 3 years and when they were in HS I had a 4th. My kids are now grown and the youngest is in college. I’m of a different generation and unless my kids kept their fighting to themselves that wasn’t their issues but I can definitely see that happening. This is a great layout I must say. Love the front and back upper stairs. I do prefer main floor master only because I’m older but love that upper master and bath. Would it be crazy to enclose the back porch into another family area. I would. A pool to the side yard maybe

A bit TOO much black trim and accents for my personal taste, but love the big windows and exterior brick. Guess more colorful furniture and rugs would change the overall impression. Keeping all the glass clean would keep you busy, particularly during a Michigan winter or if you had young kids. Of course, if you can afford a $5M house you could hire several housekeepers armed with glass cleaner!
