As a career firefighter with more than 20 years service, I have a rather strong opinion on this. This was 100% unnecessary and nothing more than a big show of power. Yeah, it looked cool in the movie "Backdraft", but not cool in reality. I have a huge issue with blocking hydrants, but that connection could have been made over or around the car. This was simply "I'm a bad-ass" theatrics, that makes the firefighters look as bad as the person who blocked the hydrant.

Also seems like it wasted alot of time too. Not saying the car owner is completely faultless, he is pretty close to the hydrant. @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive325 ай бұрын
Also those hoses need to run in as straight a line as possible to get maximum flow. The more kinks and turns the hose has the worse the water pressure would be.
