There are those that let their tyres down, drive through easily and those that don’t. This is why many 4*4 tracks are being closed due to the damage done by inappropriate tyre pressure. Some say I let them down to 25psi and can’t go lower lack confidence and should try 10psi. Don’t forget to let your titres down on the trailer.
@benhoughtonmusic5 жыл бұрын
@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures the lower tyre pressure helps the trailer tyres float on top of the sand instead of digging down. So should be overall less resistance for the tow
@tareskisloki85795 жыл бұрын
@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures airing down the tyre on sand is not about traction, it's about increasing surface area so that contact pressure is reduced, with the weight of the vehicle (or trailer) spread out over twice as much sand, it really doesn't sink as far, which means less sand build up in front of the tyre, so less effort to roll it. I think the biggest hindrance for trailers in sand is brakes, they really need the trailer brakes completely disabled.
@MrFrosty19704 жыл бұрын
@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures Have you actually watched these vids? A trailer with 10psi floats over the sand. Tyre with 35 trys to cut THROUGH the sand like an anchor. Always deflate your trailer tyres. Does less damage to tracks. Especially in deserts.
@MrFrosty19704 жыл бұрын
@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures Bahahaha. Yeah. Righto. Whatever. No idea. You just have to watch these vids to prove yourself wrong. Trailer wheels axle deep with a sand bow wave in front of them. Common sense mate. Its not so common obviously.
@MrFrosty19704 жыл бұрын
@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures Just as I am sitting here, having this little chat and watching vids, a white 100 series is brought to a halt by a jet ski trailer and 1 ski. Trailer wheels buried half way. not turning. Being pulled THROUGH the sand. NOT over it!! A trailer wheel with 10psi would have have just rolled over the sand. Bigger soft moulding footprint will win over a hard skinny tyre face every time. Maybe you should try it. Sounds like you haven't.

All jokes aside I am wondering if some of these drivers are deliberately churning up the ground to make it harder for others ? Anyone else agree? ... example ... the guy in the Nissan at the end. He’s hammering it I’m forward and reverse. The truck looks the business and very capable even without correct tyre pressure he should have able to power through further. I just have a feeling that some of them do it on purpose. Jeez. I’m my opinion there should be some sort of test to pass to be allowed to drove 4x4 You think this is bad. In the UK I regularly watch amateurs get stuck in a few cm of powder snow in winter. When I was a kid we used to wrap up warm and take a deck chair to the main village road and just sit back and watch people crash into one another totally unable to drive at a few mph. I have no experience in sand and little driving 4x4 but I fail to understand how the first car could struggle that much because I can not imagine someone with such a rigged up car not knowing about tyre pressures. Is there perhaps any other reason- other than tyre pressure- that would make him struggle like that?
@tee7snow401 Жыл бұрын
RPM as well, Spinning aint winning, look at the way the other cars go in without getting bogged consistent throttle and not lurching the throttle sounds nice giving it the revs but increases the chances of getting bogged. Trailer getting bogged is a hard one, as weight is really important how it is distributed across all axels. too much in the front of the trailer the rear tyres will bog down hard.
