Seems useful for rough idea cleanup. This combined with some VR stuff to actually look around when you model the concept it generates would be cool. Though, you're still going to need to image what's behind the camera and out of view of the camera to get stuff in game and all.

AI art will replace artists the same way google replaced sites' lists, I have no idea how you consider it helping artists!! Like helping them to change career, like, everyone sees it, especially non-artists and they find it the way to go to get artwork, even games started using it, either you are in denial, or have a point that only you can see where AI make the demand for human artwork bigger and more valuable!!

I see you have a pessimistic view on AI. I do too, but not to the point of it being an existential crisis for me. Whatever happens, art shall remain forever, though the creators may suffer. AI, is an imitation, an emulator of humanity but creativity can't be emulated. I believe that if AI can help artists create their story better and faster, it shall be used. But to replace them in corporate areas? Now that's where I draw the line.

@@3DBelikov comparing machines to AI is like comparing the Glock to the nuclear bomb, you just deny the reality of AI, and how it's already replacing tens of thousands of jobs, and expected to replace hundreds, dude, no one will pay you to prompt something to art AI more than they would pay you to search something on Google, you don't use a mouse instead of a brush, you use AI instead of artist, the artist is the one to be replaced this time not his tool..

@@3DBelikov I think I get what you mean, except I don't think AI even compared to industrial revolution, as having the machine replacing manual labor was merely making people to depend more on intelligence more than body, the thing with AI, it's replacing the human intelligence and not giving any alternative, that's why people who work on it described it as dangerous to humanity, and it's absolutely shocking to see a channel that pretend to care about artists to promote it, instead of spreading conscious about its nature and how it feed on artists' works to destroy them..

I know this is pretty niche, but one of the things AI has not been able to do well for me is Wings... winged characters, specifically. They always end up way too small or just generally looking weird.

Nah, both 2d and 3d would need some form of adaptation, but there would always be some work around, clients and businesses have to manage the administrative side of things, so someone would always be needed for the graphics side of things

It's not there yet for 3D. Based on what happened with 2D, a lot of artists who do commissions and freelance will get way fewer requests and customers. If you are employed, you are more secure, but the studio may also reduce the number of artists. I don't think it would ever hit 3D as strong as it hit concept artists, which has changed it forever and may result in the extinction of that career in a few more years. Either way, when they perfect the AI video making, it could actually be over. I do think it's a question of when and not if since even companies as big as Google and Nvidia are heading the research.
