This video is spot on. Really liked the part saying buy what makes you money, and not because it's a specific color

Overall I think most of the annoyances with the Milwaukee installation driver seem to be overblown. I've been using this the past 3 years and it has been my favorite Milwaukee tool that I own. But Im also open to other brands so I'm not a die hard Milwaukee fanboy. I do appreciate how they are coming out with new products left and right and have the most in depth tool lineup I think out of all the brands. That being said, I can see how there are advantages to the Dewalt installation driver over the milwaukee that you pointed out. Thanks for the video!

I appreciate the comment. I dealt with it for a long time before I found an alternative. Having use the dewalt for months now I'm glad i switched.

I get your frustration with the Milwaukee, but I think you might have had a better time with it if you held it the way it was intended. The reason the handle is the shape it is, and the rubber grip extends to the top, is because you're meant to grip it higher up. The idea is that you wrap your thumb and index finger around the body and press the trigger with your middle finger. This is to aid in precision. By doing that, you centre the force from your hand with the centre of the chuck, aiding in accuracy and less cam out when driving fasteners. After holding it like this a few times, it just became natural for me. That being said, I think the tool is generally pretty good, but I pretty much agree with all of your other gripes. The digital buttons on top are just ridiculous. It adds complexity, more things to go wrong and cost, all in the name of creating a worse user experience and inefficiency. I also find it ironic that they went to the effort of copying Festools grip design in the name of accuracy, while providing a terrible locking bit holder that has lots of back and forth play and no auto-eject. I own a Ryobi HP impact driver and the bit holder on that is far superior.

I tried that and didn't care for it either. Similar concept to getting the barrel more in line with the forearm on a luger. Still didn't care for it and glad I dont use it anymore lol.

Really nice to hear someone finally make sense people stop being fan boys

business is business, i think people like to be all about their brand because it gives them some sense of superiority lol

Great video. Agree with you. Milwaukee does rush tools to market in an effort to be first. And they essentially let their paying customers serve as their beta testers.

this has always drove me nuts. within a few months of buying the 15 ga nailer at full price the gen 2 was released. still have not bought the upgrade out of spite, to my own detriment lol.

I’ve owned the Milwaukee for several years and it’s one of my favorite tools. But I hate having to look at the top every time I pick it up before I engage the trigger. To me that’s a step backwards.

I have used it every day for years, and I'm really happy I got to replace it with something else.

I have the Milwaukee for about 2 years, replaced Bosch flexi click. Fwd and reverse suck completely. Handel. I hold with my index finger on the side. 👉 Learned this for using western hand saws and I find help me more with the drills and impacts. Just not sds drills.

do you like the bosch then? I apprciate the comment btw.

@@BesserBuilds I loved the Bosch. But after light use of a year the motor burned out and smoked. I do IT work, cabling, cameras, server racks, etc. Not heavy work. The other was the batteries. Because I don't do heavy work I like to run generic batteries. M12 way cheaper on generic batteries.

I have heard so many nightmare tales about off brand tool batteries. a guy local to my area had them charging in his garage and they ended up catching fire.

I've used the 12V Flexi click to install drawer and cabinet pulls. I've also used it to assemble furniture. I like the ergonomics. They also have an 18V version of it. That also has an SDS Plus attachment so that you can drill into concrete and masonry to install fasteners and anchors. Pretty interesting concept.
